Clowney Had Zero Sacks

Guess you didn't watch the game.

Yea, i did . And as a former lineman, Superman didn't beat the world. Yes, he was solid, but did he change the game like everyone predicted? Did he win it? Did he shift momentum? Did he walk on water? No, he made some tackles and a highlight stop once. Once. On the game winning drive by the Vols, he became the invisable man. That ain't All American to me. An All American would have stopped the plays run right at his ass to seal the win.

Dude Clowney went off that game it went from him owning Tiny to Clowney getting get doubled on run plays and chipped by backs and Tight ends on passes.

IMO Clowney won the battle, but Tennessee won the war.

Which was the opposite of last year.

I don't think you would know what All American is.......even if you are a former lineman. Lol

That hit on Neal was laughable, they compared it to the Michigan hit "without the flying helmet". The hit shouldn't even be on the highlight videos. I see harder hits than that in almost every game.

Right. Neal didn't fumble, didn't have to leave game. Got right back up and kept running the ball in the game. Later they hit him right in the knee and he was slower to get up after that, but shook it off ... and kept runnin the ball ... :loco: :good!: :hi:

Now Alex Brown from florida, his performance against us made him an All american, but I guess I am going too far back in the way back machine for some of you younger fans.....

Clowney had a good 15 minutes and that's about it. For all of his hype and talent, he didn't do that great. Yeah he blew up some plays but like most of games when the cocks needed him to step up and make a big play late in the game, he faded.

You're not very bright & has nothing to do with Alex Brown or Clowney.

Wow, great response, your mom type that for you? It has everything to do with examples of All American play, but i guess that just went over your head didn't it Copernicus....

Clowney stats:

4 1 5 2.5/8 Solo Assist Total TFL/yds lost

Walls stats

3 1 4 2.5/12

Don't see any national press talking about Walls, but you Clowney homers are correct, he was far and away the best player on the field. Maybe the best DE performance in NCAA history.
Oh yeah, who won that game???? banghead2::banghead2::banghead2:

Head-to-head Clowney won this match-up. Tiny did get the best of him on two key (second qtr) run plays of 11 and 14yds. 2/3 of our plays ran were away from Clowney. He brought constant pressure (Worley), had 2 QB Hurries, 2.5 TFL, 5 tackles and should be given credit for setting up several TFL by his teammates. This may have been his best outing (to-date) of the season.

It irked me, the comparisons to the Michigan hit, when:
1. Snap was botched
2. No fumble was forced
3. Helmet didn't come off

press is looking to make up for all the trash talk they've given Clowney so far methinks.

We ran at Clowney a lot especially in the first half. He seemed to take plays off and that last drive they started to move him around because he wasn't being effective. He was there early but not when it counted. Looked exhausted most of the game. Our D-line was more effective which I thought I'd never say.

The great player was hot for about 15 minutes, beating Tiny twice and the TE twice.

Then, after Tiny wore him down, Spurrier moved him to the other side for most of the game and was never heard from again. No sacks, no more solo tackles, no fumbles, no QB hurries. Our DLine sacked Shaw 4 times (including nearly breaking his legs), and he can run circles around JWorley (we love you Justin!).

The MSM will keep showing Clowney's hit on Raijon all year, right through to the NFL Draft. Here's one pic the MSM won't show -- do you guys/gals have more like this? Tiny serving up 330 lbs of pancakes.

Uhm, they showed this exact play on CFB Final on Saturday. They were giving Tiny praise for holding his own. Really more praise than was deserved, doubt they had actually seen the game yet.

He gets hyped up for a reason, he makes plays. He had 7 tackles Saturday which tied his career high but apparently that's not much to you. AJ Johnson had 200 tackles last year but he's at best average & never makes the big play so stats are misleading at times. Clowney makes plays that determine wins & losses & if you're naïve enough to not count your blessings that a few of his hits in the backfield Saturday didn't end in disaster for us then you're even dumber than I thought.

Important difference...last year he caused the fumble that ended the game.

This year he whiffed on the sack on the pass that Worley made to North...you know..."The Catch".

All the difference in the world!

:dance2:
Tiny pushed him up the field and Worley stepped up in the pocket great pocket presence. Go Big Orange!

As I watched ESPN the next morning and the love fest they poured out for him I thought they had won and I had only dreamed the Vols won. Then at the end of the love fest for Clowney, they half heartily said the Vols won BTW.

Man it was bad during half time; especially right after they showed Clowney smirking and waving to the crowd. All I wanted at that point was to win, so they wouldn't be "forced" to show any UT highlights in the event of a usc victory.
