I'm a little younger so I didn't really get to see Reggie play in his prime. Take away that fact that Reggie played at UT and Clowney plays at SC, which one do you think is better? Speed, power, fineness moves, power moves, hit power, strength. Which one do y'all think is better? NCAA Football 14 thinks Jadeveon is better. They gave him a 99 overall and only have Reggie a 97 on ultimate team.

Reggie White is probably the best D-lineman in the history of the NFL. Clowney is really good and extremely talented and most likely has a bright future ahead of him, but at this point there is no comparison.

Jadeveon has to dominate the NFL for a few years before he can be mentioned in the same sentence with the "Minister of Defense."

Short story for your reading pleasure. Reggie was a year behind me at UT and Johnny Majors had just come back to his alma mater from Pittsburgh. Majors was a mean ol' guy that you didn't mess with. One day Majors was parking his big ol' convertible at Gibbs Hall and didn't see Reggie sneak behind the car. Reggie snuck up just behind the driver's side door and right when Majors opened the door and put his foot on the ground, Reggie started barking like a huge German Shepherd! Majors immediately pulled his leg back in the car and slammed the door. Of course, Reggie was rolling on the pavement afterwards and laughing.

Only Reggie could have gotten away with this with Coach Majors and lived to tell about it.

The greatest D-lineman in the history of the NFL or the best player in college football, currently.

Humph. Tough choice.

Reggie was known as the Minister of Defense.
For now, Jadeveon is only the Clown Prince.

That's the stupidest argument I've ever heard. They done have anyone as a 99 on Ultimate team (except a Heismsn card you have to upgrade), and Reggie is the highest DL on Ultimate Team right above Warren Sapp.

The ratings on Ultimate team are ranking the greats of CFB on a 99 overall scale, while the game is doing the same on a scale of current players only.

I'm guessing you don't know much about video games?

Reggie did not just dominate in nfl but he was a monster at UT. and clowney make be a good rush end but White was double teamed his entire career and still had a ton of sacks

I don't remember him at Tennessee, except for highlights I as about 4-6 years old. However in the NFL he was the best. My first thought when I read this was Reggie White to Clowney? Can't do that right now. I think just overall White will be the better NFL player, even when it is all said and done.

Silly question. The Joker has done a 10th of what the Minister achieved and you try to talk comparison?

depends on what you're comparing. Obviously Clowney only has 2 seasons to compare so saying he isn't as good as White in his NFL prime would be correct (and ridiculous). When you look at comparable year stats it seems Clowney had a better freshman season and White a better soph season (although JC had 5 more sacks). Reggie's best season was his senior one when he really seemed to flip a switch and become a dominant player.

right now I'd call it a draw but actually lean toward Clowney

I have a question. Why os Clowny getting all the credit for turning over that blocking sled? Another player was on it also and Clowny let go before the other dude. Maybe its just me.

No offense young un but as of now, this isn't even much of a question to ask. Reggie White was arguably the greatest of all time, at UT, in the USFL with the Showboats and in the NFL. absolutely DOMINANT.

Clowneys is a physical specimen, a great athlete. But he hasn't shown to be, at this point, anywhere near the FOOTBALL player that Reggie was.

Lol this Is like asking a republican if he prefers Ron Paul or Obama.

??? Don't know what the point you're making with that analogy. Makes no sense.

Its more like asking more like would you prefer Ronald Reagan or Marco Rubio/Paul Ryan. One was arguably the greatest of all time, the other is really talented and promising but hasn't had near the career/time to show what he's gonna be.

Is this for real? White is almost unanimously regarded as the best DL ever. Ironically the argument could be made for Doug Atkins as the second.
