Well, considering that's exactly where ESPN ranked him in 2007, I'm not sure what your point is.
I don't know. Why don't you tell us.
he won't have a Sr year to get this done
If you are being talked about as the greatest of all time, he shouldn't need a Sr year to get those numbers.
Irrelevant. White missed most of his junior year. You wanted to compare who had the best college career.
If he can get 100 tackles and 15 sacks in one year (which was one game shorter back then), we will have the conversation.
But this kid is nowhere near the level of White. White was probably the quickest and most powerful 300lber to play the game.
He's second all time in NFL career sacks, despite playing a ton of snaps a lt DT.

well those were Reggie's senior numbers so....
he's played 2 seasons and Reggie got 4. All I'm saying is compare them at the same levels instead of being so quick to claim RW's performance in the NFL ends all debate
Reggie's NFL career really does end all debate. I love Clowney and think he is an absolute phenom but Reggie's combination of size, power and quickness is very unique. There was no way to defend him. He could get to the QB with the bull rush, speed rush and also the signature "hump" move where he would lift and toss 330 lb men out of his way with one arm.
Again, just like Chuck Webb and Carl Pickens, Reggie White did not play his freshman year.
I understand that Webb and Pickens played as redshirt freshmen, but the redshirt was not available when White played. There were many, especially me, who could not figure why Pickens and Webb did not play in the abysmal 88 season. Majors simply refused to play freshmen.
So comparing year to year stats, it would have to be freshman to sophomore, since White had no freshman stats. Comparing their first two years, keeping in mind that White played tackle and Clowney at end, White had 56 more tackles (146 -90) and 5 less sacks (17-21). If Clowney can have 100 tackles and 15 sacks this year like White did, then we can talk.
The fact that AJ Johnson led the SEC in tackles with 138 and Reggie White had 100 tackles his last year (third year) as a defensive tackle tells you how dominant Reggie was.
