NCAA Football 14 thinks Jadeveon is better.

You fail to make a case for anything you wrote.

So here's a velociraptor with some dynamite and a machine gun riding a shark. It makes about as much sense.

Is this for real? White is almost unanimously regarded as the best DL ever. Ironically the argument could be made for Doug Atkins as the second.

but was he regarded that way as a soph in college? If you can't see why some would vote for JC then I'm not sure I can help you

If we're talking college career, it's going to be Clowney (unless he gets injured early this season).

I'm a little younger so I didn't really get to see Reggie play in his prime. Take away that fact that Reggie played at UT and Clowney plays at SC, which one do you think is better? Speed, power, fineness moves, power moves, hit power, strength. Which one do y'all think is better? NCAA Football 14 thinks Jadeveon is better. They gave him a 99 overall and only have Reggie a 97 on ultimate team.

your question shows you are young their is no way he is anywhere close to white. hell i can be as good as clowney on a video game

Does anyone beside me think that clowney will not dominate like last year simply cause he's already a lock in next years draft and injury fears . Aka Justin hunter 2012

I'm 100% positive you will get an unbiased answer here.

What gets lost in this conversation was the Reggie White was a defensive tackle. Clowney is in my opinion the best collegiate player in the country today, but he has a long way to go before he can even be compared to Reggie White.

Unfortunately, White played in an era where freshmen rarely played (especially under Majors). As a tackle, Reggie had more sacks and more tackles in the years played, and Reggie more than stood the test of time.

Maybe we have this discussion in 10 years, but I think the better debate may be Atkins or White.

depends on what you're comparing. Obviously Clowney only has 2 seasons to compare so saying he isn't as good as White in his NFL prime would be correct (and ridiculous). When you look at comparable year stats it seems Clowney had a better freshman season and White a better soph season (although JC had 5 more sacks). Reggie's best season was his senior one when he really seemed to flip a switch and become a dominant player.

right now I'd call it a draw but actually lean toward Clowney
not a vfl imo

Reggie White is probably the best D-lineman in the history of the NFL. Clowney is really good and extremely talented and most likely has a bright future ahead of him, but at this point there is no comparison.

Agree, much too early for an accurate comparison.

Unless the OP's purpose here was to create a discussion comparing the college careers/legacies alone of the two.

I agree, but, if you limit the comparison to their collegiate careers, the answer isn't quite as clear-cut. Reggie showed flashes of brilliance as an underclassman, indeed he showed a lot, but it wasn't until his senior season that he truly and totally unleashed the dominating potential within him. I believe that it was Fulmer who said that Reggie's performance as a senior was the most dominant single-season performance by a defensive player that he had ever seen.

In college, it's Clowney, and easily. White was good in the NFL, but if we're talking about his time at UT, people are using some serious revisionist history.

I don't think there is any question that Clowney is more athletic, but that doesn't make him better.
