U guys r freaking stupid. Does this strike the fear n anyone.. No losers will always group towards losers... Quit supporting this admin

There is a big difference in supporting the coach and supporting the administration.

We just hired a very good coach who is seen by many who cover the sport as a true "star."

Maybe you should quit supporting this team? I'm sure Franklin will welcome you into the fold.

100% agree. We got a good one that won't leave after success. I'm very happy he is our coach

I really felt like he would win a lot of people over at the presser but even I didn't dream it would go as far as it seems to have gone. Complete flip flop from last night and this morning concerning negativity.

This tells me all I need to know about the respect level that jones has from his players.

One hell of a positive sign going forward!!

Or maybe a few clapped and he just called it a "round of applause". Not trying to be debbie downer, but some uc players have dissed him over this...hell, even adams said it was unusual for such an event to occur (he's always right, right?)

I predict that Tennessee will do no worse than 7-6 or 8-5 next year. I don't think they beat Oregon, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, or Alabama, but there is a very good chance that one of those teams will go down, especially Georgia and South Carolina, since both schools are probably going to be losing a lot of star players.

If we were to go 1-4 against those teams and beat the teams we are suppose to, you still have a 8-4 record. Very feasible to pull this off.

Agreed. I probably should have been clearer on the record by saying AT LEAST 7-6 or 8-5. My hopes are that we beat one of those five teams next year so that we finally can have some peace of mind that we're not totally irrelevant as a football program.

What applause was louder? When Dooley left the locker room or Butch left Cincy's? Both were out of joy I'd say.

Cincy players were happy that their coach that led them to a 9-3 record & 2 Big East titles was leaving? Interesting.

Players obviously loved the guy, if they were upset there would be tweets slathered all over VN contradicting it from the scorned Cincy players. Not happy for him leaving, but happy their coach came to a top school and that is special imo.

Follow what his players said on twitter.
It was a standing ovation.
They're proud of their coach and sad to see him go. They knew he would leave for a better job one day.

gheez..you must be a miserable person.

The same ones that believed the Webb and Gruden on campus rumors are those still butthurt and saying garbage like that. Their absence will make Vol Navy and tailgating more enjoyable.

My kids high-school coach is a winning machine and a great guy. If he told the team he was moving up to bigger things he would get a heroes goodbye party.

That's what happened in Cincy

I started this thread but the more I think about it the more it means to me about this hire. I have spent my life in athletics and I understand the magnitude of what this means. Bigtime respect and geniune love form his kids shown here!!

CBJ did something very good and rare in this day and age -- he stayed and addressed his team and told them face to face he was leaving for the Tennessee job. That showed me he has some honor about him and respects his players.

The SOP nowadays is the coach just bolts and shows up at the new school, usually leaving behind a statement or something for his old team.

Doesn't mean he will or will not win here, but after our last two clowns, I appreciate things like this.

coach speak
it turned into his dream job, when Hart called on Thursday...

I mean come on he was born and raised in Michigan, went to school in Michigan..
So if he said Michigan or Michigan State was his dream job, it would be a little more believable

I was born in Kingsport, TN but lived the first 20 years of my life in Virginia. I've been a Vol fan ever since I knew what a football was. That doesn't have a damn thing to do with it.

This ^^^ No doubt it took a man to stand there and tell them that, and they responded with respect. It definitely shows me, as you said, win or lose, he will gain his player's respect.
