No he made the HOF as a defensive end

Isn't that what I said ? He converted to DT after playing for the Eagles. I think he played DT for both the Packers and Carolina. Agree though, he wracked up most of his statistics at Philly.

All fans should look in the mirror everyday until the first game and say "We will be a very young team".

I think the Vols will be fun to watch, but there will be a lot of youth out there and that means mistakes (and hopefully learning).

Enjoy the process this fall!

I don't want to hear blaming on youth, it used to be legit friggin excuse until we had ole dooley run that into the ground, even if it is youth, make up something else, crap

The only place age really matters is OL and DL because of just pure physical maturation. In every other position its all about talent. Vols have upperclassmen on the lines. So this is the year! Butch has the best lines he will have for two more years. So this team needs to look in the mirror and say if not now when? And if not us, who?
Quit waiting for next year or the next class and just man up snd beat who you're playing that week. 7 wins and a bowl should be expected.

The Coach's dont even know if Dobbs will or wont start. How is it that you already know and the guys making millions dont know. I need next weeks lottery numbers bro, will split the winnings with you. Oh and I do believe Dobb's definitely has potential to start as does Riley, contrary to what you say.
Dobbs ain't starting dude

CBJ praising the 2 freshmen qbs and last years recruiting class may just be a tactic for keeping the flow of positivity around the program. that is his M.O. parents and recruits read these articles as well. especially the many that havent been on campus, i would assume.

Eh, I remember the "transformation" video with Ron McK. Everybody went all giddy hearing about how fast and strong we were going to be. It happens all the time with a new S&C coach.

Not being a downer, but I will reserve judgment until they are running past and through the opposition or moving earth.

While it's always great to hear good things happening in the program, I can't remember the last off-season where we weren't told about how hard the players were working with the strength coach and how much more physically fit we'd be in the upcoming season.

Consider the source from last year. :hi:

He was NEVER a full time DT...at Philly, Green Bay or Carolina...cool story bro moment here...when I was a junior at Red Bank he spoke at my school...and I personally asked in front of the student body...Do you prefer playing DT or DE?...this was after him doing his impersonations like Elvis and some awesome storytelling. Most of the student questions were pop culture or what he ate in a given day...Mr Football nerd here asked a football question...he paused for a moment and said DE...cause of my speed...in retrospect a stupid question on my part but worth rehashing on this board I think

Allen Carson tweeted that he is transferring to USF. Guess he didn't like the running.

Before someone says that he wasn't that good anyways,,, we need all the depth we can get at the DT position. Hate to here this news.

We need the body but didn't we pick him up in the middle of a summer session?....if not , he's of that caliber...this new mindset of conditioning and pace needs players that can keep up...Carson can't, so he's REPLACEABLE....sorry...best of luck young man...wish I had your talent (before anybody else says it) :hi: :salute:

I agree with you, Dark. Though I hope and even believe Worley will prove more than just adequate, CBJ has his decision already. By the Oregon game, if JW has a Matt Simms quarter, we will see a more mobile NP in action. Unless JD has really been tearing it up with first team reps, he won't be put on the field. We might, however, see Pig and A.J. alternatively put in as a bona fide wildcat QBs who will be authorized to throw the ball on some plays. CBJ doesn't want JD broken because 2014, we will really need him to give us a fighting chance after graduating so many players to the pros.
