Coach Jones to speak before Saban

No, you missed my point.

Aersosmith is from Boston. They've probably played Boston more than any other city in the world. They have tons of loyal fans there. Maybe, like you said, not everyone goes to see them every time time they play Boston, because they don't want to spend the money every time.

But does that mean that a Boston area promoter should never book the Stones, because Boston is still Aerosmith country?

And chief, you compared a football coach to Hitler. You trying to teach anyone common sense is like me trying to teach Mandarin in China.

Yes. A Knoxville area promoter should NEVER book Saban. See, not that hard to understand. It has been explained to you a dozen times why....and not just by me.

I give about to give up. Since you keep saying it....where in this sentence am I "comparing" the two? "Sure, it’s a speaking engagement about leadership....Hitler was a leader too. Guess he couldn’t make it." Since Hitler is dead, I would think it would convey it is a poke at the recipient of the e-mail. You may be a writer....but you failed reading.

No....not really. It's more like how many people who live in Orlando, actually go to Disney? How many Nashvillians go to the Grand Ole Opry? How many people in St. Louis go to Budweiser? I could go on, but these are world class attractions that people who live there get worn out on them. For instance, I live just outside of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg....people will travel from all over to come here. People here abhore the traffic and I'll make my own pancakes thank you.

If Obama gave a speech every week in Washington for 17 years, the crowd would dwindle.....if he came to Athens, TN the area would go nuts to see him. Why am I having to teach you common sense?

it's obvious from his screen name

If they do book Areosmith in Boston, please tell TRUT
He hates the traffic congestion it creates

Freaks' rules are pretty straight forward.

Perhaps you'd like to look back through your posts in this particular thread and see if you've been able to comprehend and follow the rules?

And while you're at it, think back to the context of the original post (re-read if necessary) and keep that in mind while you're reviewing your responses to other posters in this thread.

Help me. I'm 100% certain that I didn't say anything insulting or in any way disrespectful of the UT program, so I'm sure you aren't accusing me of that.

To the second point, fans: I absolutely have been disrespectful to a few UT fans, but the fact that they are UT fans has not been the target of my criticism. In fact, those responding to me have been the ones making it about UT vs Bama, or UT vs whoever.

As to the original post: I responded only after the subject was changed. I didn't bring up the subject of "boycotting".

So I'm going to politely disagree with your assessment of my rulebreaking. But obviously, you are a mod, and what you say goes. If the rule you cited is meant to be a protective bubble against any and all criticism surrounding anyone with the Power T logo under his username, then such is life.

Yes, it has been "explained". What has not been explained is why football is so significant to one's life that the very presence of an opposing coach in East TN, at a philanthropic fundraiser no less, is worth screwing with people's livelihood.

Explain that (and make sure you dumb it down for me), and I'll accept it for what it is.

It was clearly a poke at the recipient. You poked at the recipient by equating inviting Nick Saban to speak about leadership to extending the same invitation to Hitler.

I explained to you why UT football is so important to many of us in post #59. It is imbreded (I'm sure you're familiar with that word) into our very blood since birth....since our dad's birth....and even our grandad's and great grandad's. When we say our blood runs Orange we mean it. My son came home in a UT onezie (sp?). Most of us, given a vote, wouldn't want Nick Saban ever to sit foot in the state of Tennessee...much less get paid to do it. WE DON'T LIKE BAMA.

Many of us don't just dislike Alabama....we despise Alabama. Why? Many reasons. I don't have the time to teach you the history of Southern college football, and the bitter rivalries. You can google that like a big boy. While you're at it, google Bama National Championships and see how many different numbers you can get. That ought to occupy you until mom calls for dinner. :clapping:

So, 'inbreeding' was the answer? Your words, not mine.

But given that, it all starts to make sense. I'll leave it at that.

Writer huh?

Definition of INBRED

: rooted and ingrained in one's nature as deeply as if implanted by heredity <an inbred love of freedom>

You're acting like a Californian. I know because I honestly do the same at times. You're not considering practical application of how Saban being in an UT territory effects us. You're swinging a billy club at a tree at this point. The biggest lesson most people learn is to shut it down and move on before it gets worse.

To further expound upon Vercingetorix's sentiments, the textbook on this matter can be boiled down to three simple words: “Be genuinely respectful.” I do not recall his username but there is an Auburn visitor to the recruiting forum who does a very admirable job of representing his program and contributing meaningful information to the dialogue without consistently being abrasive to the host audience. The fact of the matter, bamawriter, is that you unquestionably exude an “I-insist-upon-getting-the-last-word-in-any-conversation-I-choose-to-stick-my-nose-into” attitude. If you refuse to admit that, you are either profoundly dense, which I certainly do not believe to be the case, or you are unwilling to be intellectually honest about yourself.

You'll notice that I don't post in many threads. I post when I'm interested and will continue until the discussion ends or I get bored. If that's 'getting the last word', then I'm absolutely guilty of that.

I can help you with that.

They think if they always get the last word on opposing fans boards, bama can claim their 45th national title

So I'm trying to imagine tennessee recruits figuring it all out based on the most magnetic speech in the upcoming greater athens area. Kids want to be winners and they want to be well prepared for the next level. Sorry butch, these kids will be listening with their eyes, not so much their ears.

It would be nice if fellow Vol fans lived and posted to each other by these three simple words as well.

Yes indeed. As Tennessee fans, we all too frequently can, in the metaphorical sense of the word, be cannibalistic toward each other, our team and our coaches.

Every other year, the UT athletic department provides tickets, the sale of which directly benefit the University of Alabama. So I assume you'll never step foot in Neyland Stadium again.

This tool is begging the mods to be banned. He is singing na, na na boo boo, stick your head in doo doo.
