This is the problem with our fanbase. No patience. Don't get me wrong, we need to see some drastic improvement. But hinging the man on not beating two of the top teams in the nation in his FIRST year after taking over a dumpster fire is unfair.

Why don't we start with beating Vandy. Baby steps, this won't be a quick fix. If after 2-3 years it appears he has not improved or has improved very little, then it's time to reconsider. But dont put this man's career over some BS expectation of beating Bama and Florida in year 1.

I am not even on twitter...and I wouldn't twitter CBJ anyway with hateful statements about him. I believed and got behind CDD because I thought he deserved a chance. He got his chance and failed...and, yes, I believed and held out hope against hope for Gruden...

CBJ will get his chance, but I don't BELIEVE in the program any more...it will be 5 years now until we are even close to competing in the SEC East for the title...I wanna throw up!

I thought CPF should have been let go in 2008--even though I respected him as a TRUE VOLUNTEER! I have never doubted CPF's love for the VOL NATION--and believe with all my heart that he would function superbly as an AD for our beloved Tennessee!

HART AND CHEEK need to be fired and CPF should be hired as our AD and restore our IDENTITY AS VOLUNTEERS! :salute: GO VOLS!

So when govols105 has a child we should all message him our thoughts. Your child will be lacking intelligence, lazy, fail out of school, if they ever get married they'll probably get divorced, not be able to keep a job and live off the government welfare their whole life. You know, just so you know you can't screw up this whole parenting thing.

This is the most embarrassing fanbase in America. I actually feel stupid for always referring to Bammers as such. Our fans just took that title.

Pretty embarrassing to have to see that. Give the man a chance. I'm excited about the hire. Time will tell. Year 1 will not be good, but lets wait before we call this a terrible hire.

I, for one, am glad to see someone pass up lesser openings just on the chance he might get the opportunity to coach the vols! I will get behind him.

How do you win in 3-4 years against the best coaches in the country with recruiting disadvantages. That info came directly a dear old friend that is right in the middle of many of these discussions between coaches and their agents. Unless you have a coach that doesn't care or just wants the shot at money, we have had to twist arms just to get coaches to consider us.

No, I meant the fans. They suck.

Now if we were having a conversation about the AD, I would say I disapprove of the way they handle things sometimes as well. But in this case, I was only referring to our fans...who have gone full retard in the past 24 hours. Calling for boycotts, attacking the new coach on Twitter, blowing up Hart's phone line, wanting to march down to campus and raise hell. It's laughable.

I sincerely hope this is not true. Although I'm more than disappointed by the hire, there are some lines that you just don't cross. We can't blame BJ for taking a better job - but, we can blame the administration for whom they hired. We should focus our wrath in that direction!

It's okay to get on Volnation and vent. It's okay to call-in to the radio shows to vent. It's okay to have a beer (or more) and vent. But come on people, show some FREAKING respect.

This is why I hate twitter . . . as it is is so aptly named.

Vol Fans. I am sooo much feeling this is once again a wrong hire, a bad hire. Face it though. We know of several coaches that turned us down. How many others that we do not know about. I feel we will be doing the same thing in 3 more years, with our program as a cellar dweller. That is not Butch Jones Fault. We may not agree with his hire but he does want to come to us, to try.The fault lies in our AD and our Big Time Boosters. We need to dump the Florida AD's, the Alabama AD's, and the next time we need someone have a man that bleeds Orange as an Ad, someone who does give a darn about our program. Florida guy gone! Dump the Bama guy and hire Phil Fulmer. I agree, he should NOT be our Coach, but most Certainly Should be our AD!

This boils down to one thing, UT fans are fed up! Cheek has to go. The fanbase wanted something to be excited about about. This hire does not do that.Not saying it wont end up being a good hire,but its just not a homerun

it wasn't the thread...The Chattanooga article, gave a huge amount of credibility to the Gruden to Tennessee belief
