That actually depends on who the player is, if it’s a player like Juju Watkins she could still take the 25k since she will be making 7 figures anyway.

Of course Ceteris paribus does not include every pair of schools.

Bingo. I’m not calling for a coaching change but there needs to be accountability for coaching decisions made this season. I don’t think talent is the issue at Tennessee. The NIL agenda group will never try to answer the questions you presented. Many of us have asked the same and the goalpost gets moved every single time.

The other teams just had more athletic players for the most part, we are too slow at too many positions. We had the best player on the floor every night but that wasn’t enough, maybe letting Eickea shoot 25 shots a night would have helped some but the roster was too flawed to begin with.

They can’t separate Kellie Jolly the player from Kellie Harper the coach. Because had she been a player somewhere else, she’s not coaching here today and it’s a non-issue with her resume.

So not elite but athletic, faster players with some ball skills? Not a stacked roster for them? So if NIL is the reason we don’t get the elite players, why didn’t we get any of these more athletic, faster players with skills that were better?

I don’t care is she stays or goes, I just want to know what the plan is. For example if she goes and Spear transfers and Chastain and brooks decommit what happens. If we don’t get a coach like Lindsey Gottlieb to bring her players like Juji Watkins with her, what will make us win next season, nobody wants to sit around another 5 years while this new coach tries to figure it out.

You said we need a stacked roster for Kellie to compete? Jewel wouldn’t be here when Nyla and Finley will be. Finley and Nyla will be here together two years. Are those two enough of a stacked roster for her to win? We’ve had Rennia and Rae, Rae and Jordan, Jordan and Rickea. It doesn’t seem like two are enough at this point?

Players leave that frees up more takes. Not worried about kids that are years away that haven’t played. Can’t live in fear based on the results we’ve seen with the one we have.

It depends on who we get in the 25 class, I’m not on either side of this debate. Whoever can get us the roster to win as soon as next season I’m fine with that.

I don't think saying someone took the job with the best salary is passing a value judgement on them one way or the other. Kenny Brooks just did exactly that. Doesn't make him a sinner. And taking a job for less doesn't make anyone a saint. No one said that. Just said that starting salary was a factor in some of those decisions. Some have the luxary of considering other factors first, others do not. Don't think there's self righteous involved, just economics.

I get that. I’m just thinking through things. Say Kellie nor a new coach win by next season, do you have more faith that the 7th or 2nd year of a coach’s tenure might turn out better?

I believe there are ways to get a good understanding of NIL etc. other than talking to players who went elsewhere. There are a few posters on here who have more insight than most and I would tend to give their opinion more weight.
Your true feelings and bias are readily apparent in your school yard name calling of our coach. You obviously would support NIL having no impact in order to demean Kellie.
I believe the true answer is NIL is a big deal for a lot of players but not always the final deciding factor.

Yeah, I don’t get this. I thought the prevailing theme in this thread for the pro “keep Kellie” crowd was that she needed better players in order to compete. We’re now saying that she doesn’t?
