Coach Martin Working Without A Contract (now it's final)

This seems to be the way of college sports now. The university and the coach are in agreement, but the lawyers and agents spend months arguing every single line of the contract.

Then the question I would have to ask is how many SEC coaches are working without a contract? If none, why is CCM in this position?

The only good thing about this thread is it lead me to the comments on the GVX site. Those things always crack me up. The one about Martin having not got a paycheck since being here is especially clueless.

We really do have a clueless fan base on a lot of things.

Don't worry. If and when he proves his mettle, an iron-clad contract will be in the offing.

I want to start a thread with all of the ridiculous comments in GVX. I'm sure it would be swiftly deleted though.

Interesting, because I doubt Calipari would ever be in this position with Kentucky.

Well Cal was an established elite NCAA coach getting picked up by a program that was not under fire from the previous administration, nor do they lack the funding, especially for their bball program.

Cal is basically a great NCAA coach for any school as long as he stays out of trouble. Martin is just getting started.
