My hatred for stallings was blinding haha.

Barbee being ahead is a joke, also don't agree with Kennedy or even fox really. I get that longevity gets these guys paid, but IMO it shouldn't, it should be succes that gets them paid.

It's not as much his resume as why I think he's deserving. It's because it should be what does that guy mean to you and what's your committment to him? To me he's clearly a top 5 coveted coach in the SEC, so IMO unless you aren't committed to him, he should be paid that way.

We are committed to him which is why we gave him a million dollar raise from his previous job. You mentioned pay should be based on success....What success does Martin have....he has never been to the NCAA tournament.

Tony Barbee has an NCAA appearance and Kennedy has six 20win seasons in the SEC....Both more successful than Martin....I expect Martin to be more successful than both of them and pass them in salary very soon. He just hasn't earned it yet.

There isn't a legit AD around, given the option of Barbee, Kennedy, or Martin, that wouldn't hire Martin.

And that's kind of my stance.

If he's a top 10 coach in your opinion as AD, why not pay him like it? Because odds are if you think he's top 10, so do others, meaning they'll pay him top 10 money.

You pay his worth, if you feel he's a top 10 coach, then he's WORTH top 10 money.

Hahaha there's a poster on GVX that seriously thought Martin wasn't getting paid until now. I know it can be confusing, but come on lol.

That is why he has that big of a buy out.....no one is going to come pay that for a coach that has not been to the tournament or had a top twenty recruiting class....I like coach Martin a lot and I think he will get the job done but what has he accomplished....If everyone thought so highly of him, they could have had him fairly cheaply last yr.
