Coach Pat Summitt

It's sort of reminds me of joepa living up here... You have a legend, that you couldn't even imagine not being on the sidelines anymore, and when they're no longer there, its earth shattering... I can't imagine her not being there anymore...

That's the perfect analogy.

“I don’t focus on what I can’t control,” he said. “We can control the memories we still make together. I’d rather focus on the new memories and the life at hand than worry about losing the past.”

Tyler Summitt is quite the young man.

We have 3 more home games. If you want to see this legendary coach pacing the sideline in TBA, better do it now. Its a sad time for UT athletics. If able, please come out and show appreciation for the greatest college BB coach we have ever seen. Please dont ask for details, the important thing is to show Pat how much we appreciate and love her.

One of the greatest coaches in the history of college sports as well as a great human being. Sorry to hear that she's further declining. I know it has to be especially tough for you Vol fans. But the SEC and country share in your heartache.

I'm going to the Women's SECT for this reason. I have never been to the Women's SECT before.

Asking for an NC might be too much, but another SECT title in Nashville is very possible.

It is a very sad time for Tennessee. Pat Summitt is not only the best coach ever, she is an equally great person. She has been the leader for women's basketball advancement because she not only demanded 100% of herself and her program, but she also unselfishly helped the sport in every way she could.

There will not be another Pat Summitt, and we have her. She has given so much to UT, and our entire state, and she will be in our hearts forever.

God bless you, Pat. Thank you for all you have done.
Awesome post. WELL DONE.

I'll be at Memorial in Nashville on Thursday watching the Lady Vols roll Vandy. There are tickets still available for you middle Tennesseans who can make the game.

Go Pat and Lady Vols!!

I was really hoping they could string together a magical run for her to close out her career...she deserves to go out on top.

When I was a kid I remember watching the championship runs of the 90's and thinking that she was the best coach ever....I was right.

I will flat out say it. Her situation is worse than the public knows. This is her last season, from what I've heard.

If they win at Vandy, then they will likely at least share the SEC regular season title if they beat UK (who gets 8 days in between games) next Monday.

The SECT is also a possibility.

But, that's probably the most this team will be able to do as far as sending her out on top, if this is her last year coaching.

An NC would be incredible, but that looks like too much to ask for.

An SECT title victory would be a great send off.

The school should petition the SEC to name the Woman's SECT trophy after Pat and do that THIS YEAR so they could hand it to her in the event her team wins.

Who else will ever be as deserving? Ever?
