Coach Pearl is a Volunteer

Seems like I remember he may have confessed to Hamilton two days after the interview, and then the athletic department requested a second meeting with the NCAA three weeks later. Can't remember why they waited three weeks to file the request.

Not that any of that matters at this point. He's gone and he isn't coming back.

I know I am opening myself up to be called a Pearlite, Pearlophile and an idiot, but I would love to have Pearl back as well. Look at what we have now. Wade Houston Jr. without his son.

All the props to Pearl for his work with charities. He is a very special person. But his days at UT are done. We need to just move on and support Martin during these early difficult years.

A good portion of our fanbase wouldn't know good basketball if they saw it. They just want someone enthusiastic that produces a high flying dunks and full court presses.

Aren't you the same poster that told me you thoroghly enjoyed my posts and wanted me to post more often when you first signed up? I am not trying to be a jerk to you buddy. I respect what Pearl did for UT as far as putting us on the map, obtaining our first ever #1 ranking, beating a lot of good teams, an elite 8 run, etc. Our halfcourt offense actually looks like there is a goal in mind and I love seeing that. You have to admit that Pearl brought a lot of our football fans into the Tommy Bowl and the vast majority of them don't have a clue about basketball theory. Don't mistake my comments for anything more than what they are. My comments... I mean, I'm kind of a big deal but...

Reconsidering you're first post I agree. I mistook it as an
attempt to start the piss chatter again and I just wish it
would go away. We can't even discuss basketball without one side or the other starting hate or lover comments. Sorry.

No worries brother. We all, in the end, want the same thing... For UT to be successful no matter who our coach is. I am usually the one asking to keep the pissing contests in the football forums. It's hard to even enjoy them at this point outside of the recruiting threads. I'm a big believer in getting behind the program and helping to move it to great heights no matter who is at the helm. Especially with a first or 2nd year coach. As long as you are occupying a seat and making noise when the opponent is on offense, I have no beef with you. To all those people who leave basketball games early (and football too for that matter) I do have beef with you and I wish we would've come back to beat Pitt so I could have seen you all crying in traffic after the game!

I got broke from leaving early over 30 yearsago by leaving some of the football games early like UCLA and
Bama trying to beat the crowd out of town. We had what I thought was a insurmountable lead.
