Oh I saw him play several times. Even bought his Sega Genesis game. Still doesn't mean he was the best DB ever.

Never once said he wasn't great. Just not the BEST!

And you cited all-time interceptions as your proof. Which is absurd.

Safety and CB are different positions, so I’d separate them, rather than lumping “DB” together. Ronnie Lott and Deion Sanders did very different things, for example. But Deion is the best CB of all-time. And it really isn’t close.

Pretty poor reading comprehension if that’s what you got out of my post, but I guess you felt called out.

There are a lot of people on here who hate Deion and a lot who started tripping over themselves to proclaim that Boo was gone when it was announced he was visiting CU. Now they’ll have to find justification for their misery elsewhere.

Lol. Dude either you are actively trolling or truly football dumb. Deion Sanders is universally considered the greatest DB to ever play. He is one of the greatest players of all time regardless of position. Trying to denigrate Deion the player’s accomplishments is the apex of stupidity.

Careful using the words dumb and stupidity. Reading comprehension is a beautiful thing. You will notice if you read again, I admitted he was a great player. This is ESPN's list, not mine!

The reason for the meteoric rise in the interest of Colorado football isn't just because Deion ran his mouth all offseason - it's because he ran his mouth all offseason and for the early part of the season actually delivered. He definitely attracted attention this offseason, but for the most part nobody really took him seriously. Beating TCU as a 3 TD underdog, however overrated they might be, and then following that up with a dominant victory in a roughly even game actually got people to start taking his team's performance on the field seriously (e.g., noticing that his son and Travis Hunter aren't just names; they can produce on the field). When you combine his showmanship with actually winning games, you end up with the insane buzz that was created.

Nobody expects him to beat or even compete with good teams, hence he can get his teeth kicked in by Oregon and USC and be OK. However he really starts to become far less interesting, and the whole thing starts to become overplayed, if he starts losing games that are seen to be even or where they're favored. If he does all that stuff but then can't beat Stanford, people move on to something more interesting.

We’ll see what happens from here on out. IMO, others I’m sure will disagree, but this was a game that affects recruiting. Not only did you lose this game, but you blew it pretty epic fashion against a bad football team. You had some negative things happen on the sidelines, which means nothing, but others will use it in recruiting. When you are this visible, this is a loss that sticks around. I don’t think this would be as big of a deal if people weren’t talking them up so much in the first month.

Once ShoeDoor is gone from coloredrodoe sanders will be done coaching there. He’s nothing but a wannabe showboat.
