Coach Prime

He put together a roster of kids that he poached and already knew how to play football. He’s not a terrible coach, but he hasn’t changed the college football landscape either like a few believe.
Sounds like you’re discrediting him for doing his job well

TCU beat 4 or 5 ranked teams to get to beat Michigan. Perhaps you just don't want to look and admit that.

GA beat the hell out of them. They made a statement. They were better, not just a little better A LOT better than TCU. Is that what you want to hear?

Both GA was a lot better than TCU and TCU was not a bad team are correct. I'm not sure why you can't see that.
I never said TCU was a bad team. I said they were overrated.

Here: You are what your record says you are, and so TCU was the second-best team in the nation last year. There.

Welcome to San Fran.

Go Vols.

No. It's whining and complaining when the obvious success is ignored while whining and complaining. He will never be Saban.. Literally nobody could be. That's quite a stretch to make.

The obvious is he got rid of a bunch of scrubs and poached kids that already knew how to play. TCU is not a great team. Again, not whining and complaining.

Disrespectful to who?

If you just hate him, just say it....

None of this other BS.

Be honest. He's a talkative, arrogant, successful person that's African American. That's reason enough to NOT like him for a lot of people.
Wtf does him being black have to do with anything? Shut up.

That's the thing. They weren't weak. Are they overrated this year? Not any more, I'm sure, but obviously yes.

It's just a quality upset. Why is it so hard to give Colorado props for a good upset?

I'm not a "fan boy" of Prime. I'm not at all a fan of how he assembled the team. I'm not a fan of college football being like it is.

That aside, Colorado's win over TCU when Vegas had them at a 20 point underdog is a damn decent win. That's all. A single decent win.

Perhaps not you, but some here would rather walk on Legos all night than admit it was a good win.

No but considering where Colorado was, The way they won was impressive. Talent in the other conferences isn’t on the SECs level, but neither is Colorado from top to bottom.

He put together a roster with turnover like we’ve never seen before and Goes out and beats a solid Big XII program (that doesn’t compare them to a solid SEC program, but that means nothing).
This. Thank you for putting my exact thoughts into words and typing this out. Now I don’t have to 😂

Think TCU is overrated, but from where Colorado was and considering the amount of turnover that program had, along with the players surely knowing how many eyes were on that game. It’s an impressive performance.

Not really. I’m just not on the statue build train like some of you
Who said anything about building statues? It’s actually more impressive that he had this much roster turnover and was able to come out of the gates strong. I hope he does well because I think he’s great for the sport. Whether you love him or hate him, you will be tuning in

He’s an extremely unlikeable person when you actually listen to him speak. Say something completely out of line then praise god right after.
He is. So is Dabo in that religious respect and so is Hugh Freeze.

There are some pretty unlikeable people who claim to be religious in several professions and act or have acted in the past in an obvious irreligious manner....... and we overlook it because it's not a measure of how they do their job.

I don't like Prime as a person and I'm not sure he's a decent coach, but he did get a nice win over TCU when few expected it.

And the overly dramatic drama queens will anoint Sanders the greatest coach in The history of all sports ever. They always do lol. It was one game over a bad team….

65-7 in the NC game, but keep thinking they belonged making it out of a crap conference.

It always baffles me when people say TCU didn’t belong in the national championship game. It was a playoff, and they won their first game. They beat undefeated Michigan in that playoff game. If you win in a playoff, you advance. You think they didn’t deserve to advance after winning?

It was a fun shootout, an instant classic college football game. I don’t know if he’ll have a storybook season, but after week 1, Dylan Edwards should be on the Heisman watch list. He had a heck of a game, and that kid has some moves.

Also, Shedeur Sanders had 4 receivers over 100 yards. That’s insane.

Doesn't seem to be any middle ground here. You either love Colorado, and by extension Prime, or you hate them...and by extension Prime.

He's a controversial character, no doubting that. But here's what I think most of us have overlooked...

The 2023 Buffs team in no way resembles the 2022 version. Prime flipped the roster. The whole roster. So there's that...

...and then we have TCU. I said it last year, and I'll say it again. TCU caught lightning in a bottle. What was the NC game score again? UGA, 65-7. Against the #2 team in the nation, right?

They beat TCU by 58 points. Their biggest MOV all season. For comparison, they beat Vandy by 55. In Athens.

TCU did not, and does not, impress me. Here, Prime and I are in agreement. Overrated. Big time.

I'll stick to my prediction. He's gone in 3 years, one way or another.

As for CU Football? I can see 8-4. Or 6-6. I'm leaning towards 8-4. Huge improvement over 1-11. COTY type stuff.

But there's one thing that we have all overlooked about Prime, from his days at FSU to his days at CU.

He's all about him. No matter what he says. Watch what he does. And when his star starts to fade in Boulder, or another job shines brighter, he will bolt for greener pastures. Zebra can't change its stripes.

Oh, and he can't tackle for s**t. Never could.

So he's gone in 3, and at least he'll leave CU with a better roster.

An issue that I am very, very glad we don't have to worry about.

Go Vols.
This roster came to Him.
If he leaves, my money is on him taking it with him, or at least what he wants of it. These players love Deion, not Colorado.

Whose fault is it that he had “roster turnover”? He went out and poached kids that already know wth they’re doing after the “turnover”. I didn’t even tune in on the first game, I just saw a clip of the interview scrolling through FB so don’t count on me to “tune in”.

Deion is offputting. He says dumb things. He hogs the spotlight.

Here's the thing;
Deion Sanders follows the playbook of Ric Flair.
He says everyone hates him for all his luxurious rides, his multiple diamond rings, his platinum cufflinks, his Platinum label mink full length coats, and his $100k Rolex.
He says he is the main attraction. The man of the hour.
If you don't like it, learn to LOVE it!
He spent more money on his suit than most guys spend in a lifetime.
If you follow heavy guitar music, he is football's Yngwie Malmsteen.

I don't think he's bad to people, he talks bad. I know two people who interviewed him. One of them (Lang Whitaker) spent a week with him, including two Sundays on NFL Gameday. He says Prime Time is a character he plays. Both friends came away with positive impressions.

I had to grow up in order to love Ric Flair. He was my father's favorite wrestler. I would ask my father to watch wrestling with me after he came home from work on Saturday evenings. He would watch the entire show if Ric Flair was announced to be on the show (always at the end).

I don't have any love for Deion. I think I see through his persona a bit. Everything that comes out of his mouth is not funny or interesting. He has said some stupid things, and I have turned the channel when it was his turn to talk about the NFL.

Even speaking about his son, it includes references to himself. So he is narcissistic when he can't give others their moment.

I did love when he was with the Braves. I remember him at second base during a game. The batter hit a short fly ball to right field. Deion tagged up. The outfielder caught the ball, and made a leisurely throw (because no one tags on a short fly to right when on 2nd) to the cutoff man, and Deion was 30ft past third base before the 2nd baseman had his hand on the ball. He beat the throw to home by a second and a half.
His potential as a baseball player was off the charts, but he was never dedicated enough to reach his potential. He had 43 triples in 2000 at bats. Rickey Henderson had 66 in 10,000 at bats.

I didn't even hate him taking revenge on McCarver for criticizing him for playing both football and baseball. It was a stupid thing to do, but I always thought McCarver was the dopiest and most challenged baseball announcer. (Never understood his success.) It was the pettiness of his revenge that made him look like the bad guy.

I read a book about Bobby Cox, and that moment in the locker room was the reason the Braves traded Deion. Deion probably would have played more baseball if he stayed with the Braves because they stayed in the spotlight during his playing years.

Doubt that, but Norvell better not stub his toe or step into a negative light with his boss or those footsteps he's hearing will grow much, much louder if Neon Deon keeps winning.
I doubt Deion has much loyalty to his alma mater, unless he says an opportunity to be hailed as the returning king/champion.

I see UF going for Kiffin next. Just have a feeling.
Desperation has a stench we all know too well.

I don’t get why Prime makes people so emotional. People get less mad about Sandusky and Urban
Same. College football is better when its full of coaching personalities or "villains". We just lost one of the greatest ones last year in Mike Leach. I don't want a college football landscape that's full of boring, low key CEO type coaches!

It was a great win because it was on the road. Colorado will finish the season at 8-4 and that is their ceiling.
