Coachery

Some people don’t understand that hiring a coach isn’t like ordering something from Amazon where you place an order and it’s on your doorstep in a day or two. There is much more involved in hiring a head coach: salary, buyouts, contract terms, lawyers, egos, families, etc.

I really hope Danny White has something up his sleeve! I'm really worried were gonna end up with Steele as interim. This is sickening and embarrassing that we can't get a deal done with a good coach. For once it would be nice if we had things swing/turn in our favor for a change!
Reading through the posts in here it appears the whole issue with closing a deal has been the impending NCAA issues. It may not be the worst thing to do the interim thing for a year and see if the job is more attractive the following year. I don’t think Steele believes he is a long term solution. The man is 65 yrs old so he has a 2-3 year shelf life at most. I could see him agreeing to step aside to take coordinator role with the next hire in 2022. JMO

If it's coming from someone else chances are you have no clue if that person is telling the truth or not, So why even post info coming from 2nd or 3rd party. Just keep your damn mouth Shut and let the Leaders do their jobs!

That's the problem. We don't order from Amazon. We order from Wish.

If the unknown NCAA punishments are holding back signing a good coach, let's go with Steele for a year. Potential coaches will see more clearly what they have to deal with next year.

It won't matter we will be coming off of another losing season with John McWhitey's all over our roster competing with Arkansas State for recruits

It's my humble opinion that these "leaks" are an orchestrated attempt at managing expectations. They drive the expectations down repeatedly...now all the way down to the interim coach, so that when the real coach is named, no matter who it is it's far better than what was expected. Everyone will be elated and the Knoxville Retail Mattress industry suffers.

No UT or non-UT aircraft that have been associated (that we are aware of) have taken off from Knoxville this afternoon. We had one visit west Tennessee for a STEM fest today. It returned about 4:00pm. Perhaps ADDW is smart enough to use aircraft that we do not typically use. The plane he used yesterday is still parked in Knoxville as of now.

There are four Pilot jets, four Clayton Homes jets, one jet that is leased by UT that has nothing on it to indicate it belongs to UT, there’s also a jet owned by Randy Boyd, one owned by H.T. Hackney Company, one owned by Anderson Media, one owned by a railroad company and a handful of others at McGhee-Tyson that are used by UT Football.

There are also jets to which UT has access in Cleveland, Nashville, Smyrna, Tri-Cities, Memphis, Atlanta and Washington DC. All of these are used by UT football and there any number of FBOs at General Aviation airports DW could walk through where no one would recognize him and no one would recognize any of these football coaches.

Clandestine travel by DW, if he so chooses, is easy.
