I wonder how well these former NFL coaches recruit? Saban lost several big time recruiters and I'm not sure 50 years old ex-NFL coaches relish the idea of building relationships with 18 years old kids.......I suppose I'm grasping for some silver lining in these current hires.....probing for what might be a weakness because I know O'Brien and Marrone can flat out coach their positions.

Exactly. You cant trot Dykes out there for 3 million dollars. He is maybe maybe more qualified than Vandys hire and I am not sure. But Drinkwitz and Mark Stoops are both more accomplished or have higher ceilings than Sonny Dykes. He has a very low ceiling.

Like what was alluded to before, SF said (paraphrasing) My friend pretty much said we have our guy , assuming no last minute collapse of negotiations. We should have our #1 wrapped up, but if for some reason it falls through, we'll almost definitely have our #2 by noon( today) . Basically after that, his friend was relaying that he was either taking heat or was going to take heat because he(SF) was being too specific about some details and needed to bring it in some. So... my assumption is we very well may have a signed contract on our #1 and they are all with their own friends and family enjoying some exhaled breath and a BBQ before unveiling the news , where afterwards will be very much back to work . Nothing leads me to believe we've missed on anybody.

Maybe. I just know I read the same stuff on VQ 20-30 minutes before SF made his post about his best read of the situation. Heck I may be an insider and not even know it. If you have a coach agreeing on the terms and conditions you make it official and not use advising the players as an obstacle.

Totally agree. I understand why many are starting to panic, but I don’t believe we have any clue who they are talking to. Anything that comes out is intentional.

I think that’s why they got Gillespie and are going after Graham, the recruiting part.

If I had possibly put my high profile friend's position in jeopardy, I would probably fold my hand and call it a night. If SF does really know, he's probably not even going to crack a smile now . Some of the things he shared early on , that came to light after, were things basically nobody in media or social media were touching on. It could be total BS , but if it is, he's got talent. I just don't see it. I think some of the actually connected posters underestimate the insanity of Volnation until they're finally like....nope...I'm out. peace. I can see your point and who knows that friend might be the one on VQ doing it hisself, also some players might not of been available for a team meeting by the time the deal was done, you don’t know just as I don’t, all we can do is speculate one way or the other, that’s my opinion
