I’ve been unfairly hard on Steorner, and probably have unfairly lumped him in with some of the dudes on here who have toyed with us for attention. I really do believe that he is truthful in what he comes on here and says. He believes in his guy. But knowing part of the information is what sets you up for the pitchforks. He was wrong today on his timing, and it looks like at this point that he was wrong about an agreement. You are correct, trying to walk that tightrope on here is a thankless job. But he had to know that he was sticking his neck out. As we were reminded of today, we are nationally recognized for being ruthless during coaching searches. So glad that I never tried to post inside information back in the day where I was knee-deep in it.
Why things sometimes go wrong, even when the poster was doing his/her damndest to be helpful:
(1) The source might be wrong (including deceived by his/her sources.)
(2) The source might be deliberately deceptive.
(3) The source might have been right, but then things changed.
I like black-and-white as much as the next person, but some of y’all are either pig-headed or ridiculously naive to act so butt-hurt.
Not an insider. Just appreciate the guys that have been supplying information that is considered reliable by many but is ridiculed by a handful of hateful trolls. But I do... so tell me mr insider’s keeper? What am I missing. Ohhh you are an insider too. Great to have two insiders in the same thread. I feel blessed
Yeah but if he bets on himself thats his deal. I agree if a guy fails at his big shot thats sad. But he is a grown man and if offered a big pay day. He bets on his own success I won't feel sorry for him.I’m just don’t want somebody who seems to have a bright future get tarnished at his first gig because he wasn’t ready for them at particular job situation
Agreed. Which is why I push back when I think posters are characterized unfairly.I’ve been unfairly hard on Steorner, and probably have unfairly lumped him in with some of the dudes on here who have toyed with us for attention. As long as it isn’t DykesJust a quick thought on White and his previous HC searches. IF the leaks of the first choice saying no is true, White didn’t get his first choice (Neal Brown) at UCF last time either, or 2nd (Kevin Sumlin) or 3rd (Elliott), yet still made a very good hire in Heupel.
Just because the first guy MIGHT have said no, doesn’t mean White still can’t find a very good coach to take the job.
Couldn’t say it better myself, if you notice it got grayer as days went on, which means the circle probably got smallerThis may all have been a devised leak once it was apparent that his source was easily identifiable. The person in the know gets wind that a message boarder is telling information disclosed only to his neighbor so either neighbor is the one on message board or someone he is talking to. Well AD becomes aware of this and knows how many people he has told certain things and tells each person something different. If that information becomes public on mesaage board he has identified the person who couldn't stay quiet and confidential. Then he knows who not to include in important information going forward. Corporations use that once information gets spilled from confidential meetings to figure out who they cant trust with information.
There been no issues with the information he supplied until the hiccup today.I have enjoyed SteornerFumbles info and insight, I do not think he is intentionally trying to mislead. I think he has a good source, but I wonder at a certain stage if his contact is either giving him a misdirection or his contact is being given a misdirection to throw folks off. That seems to be White's style, he likes to keep his circle very small. GBO!
