Coaching search update - Byrd has been interviewed; Frank interested in job

Wasn't Dixon's name at the top of the now infamous (and widely mocked) list of candidates that Griff just printed earlier this week?

He's a shill for the UTAD (especially now that his breadwinner is unemployed) - he's telling you what they want you to hear. Nothing more.

Until Brad Stevens or Lawrence Frank are at the presser wearing an orange tie - I'm sticking with it being Marshall.

Personally, I don't want Lawrence Frank. I thought he was overrated with a stacked Nets team and helped run the team into the ground. I'd rather have Byrd as a stopgap if those are the two choices. I could see myself pulling for Byrd to be successful. I have no desire to cheer for LF.

so if Lawrence Frank is hired you will no longer cheer for the vols? good riddance...

I dont see the reason why people dislike Byrd. He could be the best x's and o's coach we talk to IMO. But what do I know, I just want some football.

Lawrence Frank is a good coach. He sets and runs the Celtics defense. Plus I heard he was a good recruiter when he was at TN. Plus, with the NBA backgroud he should be able to get players. Frank is my choice behind Stevens.

Only worry is recruiting with him. He's been at a small school for a really long time.

He can hire a great staff for recruiting cant he? He is a proven winner, thats someting a lot of the other names floating around cant cant claim. Again, I really dont care that much but wouldnt be upset to have him as our coach. As long as we dont hire Shaka Khan im fine. Just someting about that guy?

I don't know. If he can, that's certainly a point in his favor.

Vince Carter
Richard Jefferson
Jason Kidd
Alonzo Mourning
Nenad Krstic

...and perpetual all-star Ron Mercer.

Alonzo Mourning barely played for the Nets because of his kidney. When he was OK again he got traded to Toronto and then waived which allowed him to go to Miami. Zo was NOT a factor.
Kristic? Please! He sucks!
