pretty sure I was voted president of the NEGAVOLS after the first game when I said we will not go to a bowl game because we can not run the ball on Utah state. I was told everything under the sun why we cant run the ball on Utah state but somehow we are going to get 100% better in a few weeks and be able to compete in the SEC. I did not say anything when we could put Arky state away but we aint winning this game.

Ok.....so I'm pulling the pin on another grenade....

Who would have the greatest chance of an upset in Norman.....Kiffin (+ staff) or CBJ (+ staff)? If Dools were the coach, the team might as well not get off the plane - so forget him. Also lets not consider Fulmer, Majors, Neyland, etc. just 2 of the last 3 coaches.

There's a clear distinction between negavols and realists.

Negavols just like to complain for complaints sake. Realists look at the situation objectively and form an opinion.

These two camps are not the same. Which would you class yourself as?

I love it. Thought provoking. Sure to incite (thank you butchna) some fury, but a great question nonetheless.

As bad as we all dislike Saban's princess, he did get us to a bowl game.

Worst hire we ever made, but all of us would be lying if we said he didn't bring a great deal of excitement while here.

Edit- misspelled a word. Butchna pointed it out. It is fixed.

I think the board does have some who simply choose to be a member of the legions of the miserable by never having anything positive to say about Butch or the Vols, and being unable to have others make such statements without countering with a negative statement. Sometimes I truly believe those types prefer that the Vols stay down to justify their negativty.

100% realists! I know you can not win many games without having an effective running game in the SEC or pop warner! you have to run it somehow and we have not a been able to do that as of yet!

Hope and pray we win every game but understand that this season is probably 7 and 5 and a bowl...refuse to criticize kids that are giving their all for our beloved program. Refuse to criticize a coach who is only 2 years into a 4 year rebuild. Refuse to be poisoned by the negativity of the "legions of the miserable"...greatly enjoy our wins and weather our losses knowing that better times are ahead.

Most pumpers fall into category C...nice try though. You miserable bastards will never drag me down. UT football is my favorite passtime, i enjoy it thoroughly and will continue to. The amount of negavols amazes me...and i truly cant stand them. They are a blight to our fanbase and i wish they would go cheer for alabubba.

Washing clothes for my trip...local access channel has some guy raving about legalizing meth...you SEEMED like the less loony option at one time...but you got me thinking Don't SOME meth addicts emerge as productive citizens in our society? :dunno:

The level of vitriol in this thread is mind boggling. I hope no one wants the Vols to lose and hope no one seems "justified" or "happy" when and if it happens. I joined in because I like to have realistic discussions about the games in an analytical way beyond "We gonna whip dey ass". Will I be upset if the Vols lose? Absolutely. Will I be surprised if we win this game? Absolutely. That's being a realist. In no way do I want us to do anything but go out there and shock the nation its just a very very long shot to happen. That doesnt make me a negative fan or a negavol in my eyes. If it does in yours then I do nto know what to tell ya.

Anyone that gloats about being right or truly wants the Vols to lose should re-examine their team affiliation and definitely should be banned from this forum.
