My 9 year old son is trying to learn Spanish because he sees so many people around him who speak it. I think it's fantastic. I'd bet that 30 percent of VN would regard him as a traitor to his race and his country.

Learning any foreign language is a noble idea.

I believe foreign languages should be required in elementary schools starting in kindergarten. Young children have a great cognitive capacity for learning languages. Other nations sure do place an emphasis on learning English.

Is it too late for prop bets?

Also, can we start calling it Merican instead of English? We won that war, it should be our language now.

The commercial isn't harming anyone, but I feel English should've been made the official language of the U.S. a long time ago.

Funding is always the issue. My kid had a Spanish class when he was in kindergarten, but after that the teacher got taken away and now we're going it on our own. He's got some pretty good cursing down already.

I think my favorite commercial was the Full House one. When he spilt the yogurt on his pants, of course I had the dirty thought of her going down. Then to hear Bob Saget tell him to take off his pants and the camera pans over to Saget and Coulier, I lulzed good at that one.
