Cole Cubelic remarks

May need to return his NIL funds.

We joke but if you are a major contributor to NIL would you keep contributing if your investments are paying off? The other olineman who are working hard may start to ask themselves why they aren't getting paid more if a tackle can earn large cash to not put forth much of an effort

Cubelic is absolutely right. Go back and watch the tape. It will piss you off.
Even before this game... go back and watch the NC State game. He was beaten on the outside rush several times forcing Nico to have to take off or get blindsided.

I was confused at how we were supposedly going to be so much better in the Oklahoma game had we had him. He would have been ran by in that game too had he played.

The DE is projected to be a 1st round pick, but on that one tape it was almost comical watching Heard try and block him. He did actually almost block him after Jackson ran around him and flushed Nico out and he came back at Heard.

He looks like he is out of shape, but he could also still have the lingering foot injury.
He has slow feet and needs to work on his footwork. He is not in game shape yet either. 6 weeks in and still out of shape is not good.

Lived in New Orleans for 8 years and learned allot about Cajun cooking. Great Stuff!
I need to get down there some time. Have had gumbo and jambalaya, but not for quite some time. Wife just went to NO on a church trip and had the famous Cafe Du Monde beignets.

I will admit that in the case of blue crabs, I prefer them Maryland style (steamed) over the typical Gulf Coast style boil. Meat stays firmer.

If it doesn't get better it may be getting time to see what Jesse Perry and Bennett Warren are made of. Campbell can't stay healthy. Heard out there looking like your unc that's got that belly and smokes at the BBQ trying to play ball with the kids.
Larry Johnson has played well. Why not play him?

Ordinarily, I'd scoff at the notion of playing a JUCO kid over a former 4/5 star talent, but in this case, I've seen enough to say it's definitely a move to make. It will either light a fire under Heard or he moves on to the portal...again. Does he have a redshirt? How many games has he played?

Heard has been called out, let's see how he responds.
Yep. If I were a highly-rated recruit who wanted to increase my shot at playing in the NFL, I would be trying everything I could to do that.
Hopefully, he’s not one of those who thinks he can just trot out there and be Mr Everything. That certainly won’t work in the NFL and is toxic to the team

OLine play was bad, but we also need to give credit to Landon Jackson and Arkansas DLine. Those guys aren't scrubs. They obviously saw some stuff on tape of how to attack our guys and executed perfectly.

It's up to us to now adjust. If our guys can't hold up against SEC DLines we need to adjust out play calls. We need to call more intermediate passes, not WR screens, that get the ball out quickly. More slants and in breaking routes. More TE involvement. Where is Holden Staes? More check downs to the RB. How about getting Bru the ball and letting him fight? We have to utilize our guys better.

Cole studies OL play thruout the conference each week. In discussing the poor level of OT play thru the conf this morning, his comment was “Tennessee may have the laziest LT”. WOW.

This is an unbiased opinion of the guy.

I wonder if Cole is aware of this and if his comment would be the same:::

He has had very limited practice time due to injuries.

He is a freshman in experience.

Due to injuries, he is not in the best shape due to limited time to practice and play, Had missed 28 days of practice prior to Saturday.

Saturday was the second SEC game he has had any significant time in (Auburn last year)

This season will be his "learning on the job" year. He won't play like a 5 star this season and likely not a 4 star. Perhaps in the future but due to all of the above, he is a ways from being what he was assessed at as a high school player.

Expectations should be set based on that.

I'm not sure if all these posters have inside knowledge because 2 weeks ago the narrative from a lot on here was, when we get Heard and Campbell back starting, we will be set on O-Line.

He has a redshirt available. He has played in 3 games thus far.

He is out of shape due to being injured. He won't get in shape this year unless you shut him down to just work on conditioning. He missed 28 days of practice / conditioning prior to Saturday night.

Cole was talking about effort. Cole is definitely aware of the injury. He did the Kent game. I’d think Cole is able to understand playing after coming off an injury. Unfortunately he was out there & his performance was far below acceptable. If he was unable to go, he should have tapped out or coaches should have pulled him. A LT playing like that & you won’t beat many teams left, including Florida.

I’ll reserve judgment for now. But it’s at least more sensible to direct frustration and criticism at this instead of bitching about our Freshmen QB like some idiots have been doing

Here's ya a quote from UT Sports page about Larry Johnson III...

"Played 41 clean snaps at LT against the Sooners and was UT's highest-graded lineman according to PFF.com after not allowing any pressures ... Did not allow any pressures in 31 offensive snaps vs. Kent State (9/14)"

And he actually looks pretty lean for a big guy. I think he should get a shot unless Heard beats him out.
