Colin Kaepernick sits during national anthem

Honestly, Lincoln probably trampled the constitution more than any president ever. Dude locked up elected officials so they couldn't vote against him. He locked up journalists and editors for criticizing him. He suspended habeus corpus. He even threatened a supreme court judge issuing a warrant for his arrest because the judge asked, "Where does Lincoln get the authority to suspend habeus corpus?"

...can you imagine the outcry if Obama did any of that stuff?

Lincoln is the biggest fake that has ever served this nation, but I would not take back his presidency if I was presented a billion dollars. The man kept together the union, formed us into a nation (when we thought of ourselves as only states), and set us on our path towards growth and domination.

I will never apologize for Lincoln, despite him.

I would take back the presidency in a heartbeat. He freed the slaves and that's an amazing thing. Other than that 650,000 dead Americans on his watch, all to preserve the Union?...i'd rather have 2 countries than 650k dead. Slavery was on its way out either wat. That's not worth the price, IMO.

Lincoln did not fight the war to free the slaves and he said that....in his inaugural address. That was a byproduct of the war. He said he would invade anybody not paying tariff tax, ie S Carolina. #history

He even said that the "freeing of the slaves" was to motivate the union to fight harder. The south was going to win. He didn't give a damn about the slaves any more than anyone else during that time

We all know. If the south complied....

You'd have to deal with the consequences though for longer than you'd like to

#duh

Dan Lebetard made a great point this morning:

Kap disrespects anthem by not standing
Next game fans boo Kap during the anthem for disrespecting the anthem....pretty funny when you think about it

Right...it's not worth 650k dead. America is a pretty cool club...except for the fact that if you try to leave the club we will kill you.

I would rather have the stronger nation that we became....whether war happened or not....those 650K would be dead now anyways.

Yeah, but what about their posterity? Millions of people were never born...people that would have made the world a better place by inventing things and teaching us new ideas, etc.

It's easy to say you are cool with 650k dead because you didn't know any of them. What about now? Would you sacrifice 2% of our population to maintain the union?

I would be willing to fight and die for what I believe in

Depends on who was fighting to preserve the union.

Why are you worried about the millions of people that weren't born that could have made this a better place when we have more abortions per year in the US than was killed during the civil war?

If all the war dead had survived our global warming problem would be even worse than it is now. So there's a silver lining.

Are the two positions mutually exclusive?

Why would I be worried about the millions of people that weren't born....when we have birth control?
