Colin Kaepernick sits during national anthem

It was mostly just Christians fawning over him for his kneeling and virginity and for that stupid speech after the Ole Miss game that UF put on a plaque, and everyone else rolling their eyes
Might want to go back and read the articles and compare to Kap. Journalists were actually saying things like “players shouldn’t draw attention to their selves for causes and should focus on unity together not political divisions”

Well, he didn't get a job after that...

He did. Everybody knew he wore his Christianity on his sleeve and he got drafted in the first round and then 2 teams gave him a chance after he proved he probably wasn't a solution at QB. He refused to try other positions

Meanwhile, the country burns and our freedoms erode each day while we go back and forth over someone standing or kneeling before a kids game.

This is why this country is in the position it is in... we focus and virtue signal on trivial issues.

Specifically, what freedoms have we lost or which ones have "eroded"? I often asked this of people during the Obama years when right wingers would say "we're losing our freedoms"

I do agree there is far too much virtue signaling on trivial matters

We just had a mayor of one of our biggest cities use the PD to prevent protesters from peacefully protesting on her block that her house is on . I’d say that qualifies as erosion of our rights .

One isolated case. Show me dozens of these and I'll agree with you. Kind of like the faux war on Christmas that has passed
