Colin Kaepernick on Chargers' 'workout list' but no current plans to bring him in, Anthony Lynn says

Colin Kaepernick may get a legitimate shot at a return to the NFL – at least eventually.

Los Angeles Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said Wednesday the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, who was once a play away from winning a Super Bowl, is on the team’s “workout list.”

According to multiple reports, Lynn said that Kaepernick fits what he wants the offense to do but clarified that the team has “no plans” to work him out just yet and is happy with who he has now at quarterback.

Tyrod Taylor is projected to be the team’s starting quarterback going into training camp and the preseason, despite drafting Justin Herbert with the No. 6 pick overall in April’s draft. Easton Stick is projected to be the third-string quarterback.

Lynn’s comment comes two days after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell encouraged teams to sign the free-agent quarterback, who has not thrown a pass in more than three years.

In Kaepernick’s final season with the 49ers, he recorded 2,241 passing yards and 16 touchdown passes in 12 games. He only threw four interceptions. At his hasty workout last year, at least one scout reportedly described him as having “elite” arm strength.

If Kap landed in Seattle would the Seahawks consider opening a team store in CHAZ? If so would they sell Kap’s jersey or just issue it? You know none of those clowns know the first thing about sports, but would rock the jersey.

OK you're the Ravens GM, you'll take Colin for how much money or would you rather have Josh Dobbs at $900K per year? I think Dobbs is more elusive with a very comparable arm, and will probably be $3+M less with a much longer career ahead.

Now you're getting wild. I'd take the guy that has proven he can lead a team to the SB over a guy who hasn't figured out how to be a #2. Josh Dobbs is 4th on the Jaguars depth chart behind Minshew, Glennon, and I bet you've never heard of #3.

Colin's SB year was after Smith went out with an injury, he was 5-2. In the "What have you done for me lately" there are a lot of QB you'd pick before Colin

He went to the NFC CG* the next year, so there's that too. If "what have you done for me lately?" is the measure, Dobbs has literally never done anything. Being a starter with the 22nd rated QBR is world's better than being 4th on the fkn Jags' depth chart.

I hear you but because someone wears a shirt does not necessarily mean you support that network/cause/team. I wear an SC Gamecocks shirt from time to time that my MIL (RIP) gave me. Am I an SC Fan? Certantly not!
That's true, but he publicly stated he liked the network.

Take a knee and turn it over to the defense?

How can you have an opinion on something that you have never seen the material? You seemed to have informed an opinion based on a t-shirt and other individual's opinions.
I've done a little research. It seems to be universally accepted that they are right of Fox.

I've never seen it either.

If available why not watch wich you own eyes vs. an opinion from someone else. Just watch and get back to us!

I'm not even sure if I have it available. Plus, I'm not that curious.

You already said you did not think the shirt was appropriate but have never seen the show. Now, you are "Plus, I'm not that curious."

How can you form an opinion on something you have never seen?

I said the shirt to me was like a MAGA hat (pro-Trump and all that encompasses). I stand by that.

The NFL has ball-busting lawyers that work for them, and they wouldn't settle if they could have won. Kap's settlement means there was collusion against him.
Is it not possible that they settled because they didn’t want to potentially alienate some players that had aligned with Kaep and/or didn’t want to risk going to court and getting a sympathetic ruling? They may have simply done the math and said it isn’t worth the risk. 10M to end it vs a 25% chance you lose and pay 50M, or whatever the numbers were. Very few things are completely black and white (no pun intended). There wouldn’t be a need for lawyers and courts if things were always so simple. The bottom line is there no way you can ascertain guilt or innocence from a settlement. I agreed to settle a civil suit where I was 100% innocent to stop further legal bills from accruing since the state follows the “American Rule” regarding fees.

In an even world..... you would obviously want Colin over Dobbs but will colon take cheap veteran money to be a back up?
