College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Rutgers is the worst P5 team in America and that's not an exaggeration. Their RPI is slightly worse than Cal and Pitt. They have zero shot in this game.

They did just beat Indiana...I agree it’s very unlikely to happen but if it did would be a horrible loss for Purdue, would really open the door for Tennessee to pass them.

It's because the conference is weaker. Rutgers actually beat Seton Hall in OOC and lost to FSU by 5. It's why the RPI is a little skewed.

Oh I'm not a huge believer in these formulas. I just know if you are ranked worse than Pitt and Cal then you gotta be bad. Really bad.

Yup...would be nice if they’d win 1 or 2 in the SECT to get their Rpi inside of 75, if they do that it’s a Q1 loss which would make us endefeated against Q2, Q3 and Q4.

Oddly enough, didn’t someone say that it might be better for that to be a Q2 loss because it makes our Q1% better?

No...they were saying it would’ve been better to win at Georgia and lose at home because it would’ve been a Q2 loss but Q1 win, instead of if we win tomorrow a Q1 loss and Q2 win.

That discussion took place but it's clear as Mud for me. There does appear to be a lot of Q1 records being compared around here. It's confusing.

Gotcha. But now it appears that they’ll both be Q2 regardless. Bummer.

Yup, I agree with that. I do know from reading everything here that if every team wins a couple games in their conference tourney, then they move up to Q1. Apparently Q1 is a territory infinite in size with plenty of room for everyone.

Need Penn st to upset OSU again tonight

Ohio State is quite a ways behind us, I’m not too worried about that one. PSU eliminating them would be nice but unless they win the B10 tourney I don’t see them passing us. Similar to Michigan who beat Nebraska just a little bit ago.
