Women's BB and SC is #1 in the countryOkay, from that link, which is a completely subjective "metric," 4 of the 6 people ahead of him already have their jerseys retired. That list has Ron Widby ahead of him, which is a joke, since he mostly played football. Only scored 576 career points. Reggie Johnson was a good player, but hard to argue he had a better career than Lofton. Lofton was a 4 time All-America (two 3rd teams, two 2nd teams), which I imagine hasn't been done often at UT if ever (Note only a Rivals 3rd team All-America as a Freshman). So according to the list he's certainly been SEC player of the year, still holds a major statistical milestone (Most 3 pointers in SEC history by a wide margin), arguably a first team All-America if you count the Wooden one, if not he would just have to be selected by a nominating committee.
Plus if you factor in his story like playing through cancer treatments and bring Tennessee basketball back into relevance, I would find it hard to believe a nominating committee wouldn't select him. I was hoping Admiral would be the last person to wear the #5, but obviously not. Also, again going back to your list, it seems pretty clear that Lofton is the 5th best player in UT history, with the 4 ahead of him having their jerseys retired. I see no reason to think that he shouldn't be on that list.
Just posted it in the wrong forum.I didn't think the SEC played on Thursday? Hilarious. But, might give them confidence before our game Saturday.
It’s not that hilarious. I just posted in the wrong forum.I didn't think the SEC played on Thursday? Hilarious. But, might give them confidence before our game Saturday.
Arizona gets payback on UCLA in Tucson. That win continues to pay dividends for us.
Did you see the video recently posted on here of the Vols leaving the court at lsu with the lsu fan cussing all of them? Some of these nuts act like they’re at a WWE event. I doubt that kid in the grey shirt hanging over the rail was shouting kind words at the players. The home team needs to protect the visiting players from unruly fans or we’re going to have one of these athletes lose their cool and go after some punk in the stands.I think you have to be some kind of psycho to spit on someone. Just weird
Irrational confidence due to being able to say whatever you want behind a screen + add-in alcohol that's always been an issue at sports = what you're witnessing.Did you see the video recently posted on here of the Vols leaving the court at lsu with the lsu fan cussing all of them? What in the world makes anyone think they have the right to dog cuss an athlete from the stands on their way to the locker room?
I’ve never seen the time I needed to be the fan cussing any player. I thought booing was the means by which fans communicated their displeasure in events? College sporting events are family entertainment, your not at a strip club. Where does screaming vulgarity from the stands ever become acceptable?there are occasions when a player needs to be "dog cussed"
old timers remember when the Duke (or Ky) player stepped on a player lying on the floor? Laimbeer also wasn't the nicest player ever.
what about the dude at Ole Miss several years ago? Sorry for my forgetfulness on names. How about some of the recent Memphis players.
I do admit the LSU fans take it to extremes. They should be restrained at least 20 feet from the walkways.

Agreed, and punching a stranger who is irrationally screaming cuss words at you is a crime also in today’s world. When I grew up it was just an arse whippen coming your way hence teenaged punks were much more careful about running their pie holes. Think I liked the old way better!Yelling at players is classless. Spitting on someone is…. a crime
Agree.
Although I have to admit to yelling "Eddie Munster" at Billy Donovan back in the day as he was walking off the court at TBA.
And that’s a crime tooAgreed, and punching a stranger who is irrationally screaming cuss words at you is a crime also in today’s world.
