College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Texas told Chris Beard to hit the bricks……..or probably to talk it out with the bricks with a counselor but do it far away from the University of Texas.

I do find it funny the Texas Basketball program has went through hell since Barnes was let go.

Good ole karma

Indeed. I hope we rub their nose in it when they come to Knoxville in a few weeks. Complete dysfunction for Texas for 7 years, meanwhile Rick has rebuilt another program and has us contending for conference championships and producing Top 15-20 teams every year.

Not to make this a referendum on Fulmer's firing, but I'd venture to guess a lot of people, nationally, who felt we acted too hastily in cutting him lose back in 2008 felt the same way about Tennessee football in the decade to follow.

The one difference being that Fulmer didn't immediately go to, say Texas A&M, and build a heck of a program after the firing while we wallowed in mediocrity and dysfunction.

These Texas players will still be on a mission to beat the real UT. They are competitors and they will play hard.

There were signs other than his 2nd losing season. Recruiting was off and he basically had a coaching tree without branches. He still deserved another year instead of bringing in the Kiffin clown show though.

Then they should have given Kippy the 2010 season as an audition instead of bringing in yet another clown show with Precious Dooley.

There’s really no dominant team this year.

Just a bunch of good to average teams who’ll end up getting hot at the right time once the NCAA Tournament starts.

I'm still not convinced the two best teams in the country didn't play against each other a few weeks ago when Alabama beat Houston. People wanted to poo-poo on Houston after that loss, but both of those teams would give Tennessee absolute fits. The good news is that I'm also not entirely sure Tennessee isn't one of the 5 best teams in America, and there isn't a ton of separation in that top 5.

Wow, what a huge choke job by Ohio State. You get the ball stolen when you just need to dribble out the clock or hit foul shots, and then all the Ohio State players stand around watching one guy vainly trying to get open instead of helping or cutting to the basket. Just pathetic.
