Yep. Jimmy used to be one the best in the business. Now, he's an annoying mouthpiece who just does exactly what you said; he finds a topic and beats you over the head with it. Drive it to the nail, floppy action, smoke/slip screen...all part of his repertoire. He's so annoying to listen to, now. I used to love Jimmy, but he's brutal anymore.
