Arkansas has never made the tournament after starting 1-5 or worse in conference play, either in the SWC or SEC.1-5. I guess Musselman won’t be getting many votes for the SEC COY.
#48 on KenPom, #33 on Torvik…didn’t beat a single Top 150 team in OOC and in conference the best team they’ve played is Florida, in other words they haven’t beaten a NCAAT team yet. 3 or next 4 are @UK, @Aub & @Ark, let’s see where they are after that stretch.Like, is Texas A&M good? I have legit no idea. 5-0 in conference play, but haven’t beaten a single team I would consider good. Their non-conference schedule and resume is incredibly weak. But, 5-0 is 5-0.

Musselman was coronated too early as the Prince of SEC basketball, in my opinion. They’ve had injuries, and yes, it makes a difference. However, Brazile transferred from Mizzou when Mizzou was not very good. To me, his strategy is “drive downhill and draw the foul or make the high-percentage” shot. I believe opponents have figured it out. They have this year, anyway.Arkansas has never made the tournament after starting 1-5 or worse in conference play, either in the SWC or SEC.
Their next two games are Ole Miss and LSU, both at home. Suffice it to say they need to win both of those or the path to an at-large becomes treacherous.
At the point late in the season just after we beat Auburn 67-62 last year, we were 21-7 and ranked 5th. We’ve lost 3 games…3. Long way to go, and the injury bug is trying to bite us, but we shall see.Xavier and Texas losing this week means if we take care of business Saturday we’ll probably move up to #7. I’d like to see us inch back into that Top 5 by the time Alabama rolls around.
I’m guessing someone else will drop a game as well…Kansas won’t fall below us with their 1 loss this week but a 2nd loss this week and I would think they will. Win Saturday and I would think we are back to 5/6.Xavier and Texas losing this week means if we take care of business Saturday we’ll probably move up to #7.
