He’s definitely an excellent coach, but it seems like he fits better at a smaller school. I don’t really know why that is (donors, culture, campus environment, motivational tactics) but unless I understood what went wrong last time, I’d be hesitant. He did win a Big12 tournament. The Big 12 has been a great conference of late.
Shaka is doing great at Marquette. But if Georgetown, Nova, and St John’s return to where they were during the 1980s Big East he wouldn’t be wise to stay at Marquette.
He’s a very good coach.
I remember when Gaines was the first to commit to Tennessee as part of the 2019 class with JJJ and Vescovi I believe... definitely a loyal kid, glad to see him making a name at Providence. He has Providence playing well this season. I didn’t realize Ticket Gaines had followed him to Providence from George Mason. Glad to see both having success there. Gaines has 15 points so far in tonight’s game, and they are about to beat Marquette.
He did. That’s what frustrated Barnes as well. He’s been impressive this year, at least from what I’ve seen. Maybe he knew this year was his last chance to impress the powers-that-be.Yep. He picked and chose when to give maximum effort IMO. One of the more frustrating good (when he wanted to be) players in recent memory.
He's still a glove on defense too and makes that whole Friars squad better. Was watching them last night and their switches in man to man were so fluid when Ticket was in the game, may even make CRB a little bit jealous this yr. lolI remember when Gaines was the first to commit to Tennessee as part of the 2019 class with JJJ and Vescovi I believe... definitely a loyal kid, glad to see him making a name at Providence.
It’s still a bit hard to see where he’d fit into our rotation just because we have so much depth there. Probably made the right decision transferring out but it’s really nice seeing him do well. He's still a glove on defense too and makes that whole Friars squad better.
