College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Just a general thought here, but basketball, particularly at the college level, needs an intervention in terms of how rules are written and, in turn, how games are officiated. Far too many games have turned into free throw festivals over the last few seasons. That leads to more points, but is the game really better for it? Is the game more entertaining to watch? I don’t believe it is.

Allowing players to defend with more physicality would lead to less points being scored, but the flow of the game would be so much better imo. Less free throw contests and more real basketball. Plus, players like Mark Sears and B.J. Mack wouldn’t consistently get bailed out for driving into the lane like a bull in a china shop.

The last 5 minutes of LSU basketball looked like their opening 5 minutes against us. Cook, Hannibal, Baker...they've all looked like garbage in this span.

South Carolina has scored 24 points in the first 6 minutes of the 2nd half. It’s like Vandy is trying to tank for draft position instead of win.

At least we no longer have guys attempting to slide in front of every offensive player attempting to draw a charge with the refs trying to make some split second calls.

Kim English is doing a great job this season at Providence.

Lost best player due to injury and has team at 15-8 6-6 in Big East.

Beating Butler by 2 61-59 on road with 7 minutes left in game.

Now Ed Cooley at Georgetown lol...

Georgetown is still bad, but improving. Cooley has already won more games than the Hoyas did each of the last two seasons. He will have them back in the tournament soon.

Eh, looks as if Providence choked a game away.

Officiating or not, Providence had a couple opportunities to ice the game away..
