College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Man Purdue has really been faltering...

I didn't watch tonight, but I've watched Wisconsin play a number of times this year and they are BAD

Did you see my post on Purdue on the last page???

I was asking if you see a scenario where we could surpass them?

Also...saw a comment tonight that until tonight Cincinnati hadn’t beaten a NCAAT team this year? Obviously they lost to Houston, who they beat earlier in the year, so Cougars are now likely to dance but there’s no way Cincy should’ve been projected so high with no wins over likely NCAAT teams...that’s crazy.

The way Purdue is playing it’s a possibility. You obv saw my latest has them as a 3 seed. Looking more likely, and we have 2 potential

I feel like the committee was really stretching w Arizona in the top 16. And this would help give them justification. Really need Az St

Of the one “sure fire” 1 seeds from a couple weeks ago, sucks that’s it’s Purdue

To be honest I don't give a Rip about the difference between a 2, 3,4 or 5 seed. The only reason I care is the possibility of playing in Nashville or Charlotte where I can go

Re Cincy. The committee is pretty set on the quadrants and in particular away q1 wins. In which, Cincy is 3-1.

So it’s a little distorted... you could win a bunch of away games against 70 RPI teams and because of this somewhat arbitrary bracketing are the most valuable type of wins!! Amd there are a lot opportunities for wins like that in Cincy a weak conference.

So the quadrant system is a step in the right direction but still very flawed. They need to lean more on the SOR and quality ratings.

Meh, if going to Boise in the LA region meant UT would have an easier path, then I’d take it. Rather watch UT wins on TV than witness UT losses in person

Sure but let's be honest seeding really doesn't make that happen.
First round upsets play a much bigger role

The committee always says they balance out the regions, there have certainly been lopsided regions in the past.

Shoot the LA region they announced this past weekend is pretty weak...

Only 1 game of interest tonight. Rhode Island at St. Bonny. I don't think RI is a direct threat to our spot on the seed line, but they're close enough.

Should be a fun game to watch for the CBB fan as well

I’ll definitely watch....two teams I am really curious about. Both teams seem like they could be good....could Just be lucky.

All of RI’s losses are to tournament teams....but I just don’t see any signature wins. They have beaten what....two tournament teams? They do “look” like a decent basketball team.

I think we are to the point of pulling against Purdue. A week ago, that wasn't the case, but we are in a position to catch them now, and the shine of that win has lost a touch of its luster. Still a very good win, but not viewed as resumé defining anymore. We just need to keep winning.

Yea I’ve been torn on that one too, the loss last night though makes it worth at least the discussion though.
