Only until 11:00 tonight. I lost an avatar bet to @MAD.How dare you have UConn women’s basketball players as your profile pic on a Vols message board
Obviously just allegations at this point but seems like too much smoke for there to not be some truth to this.
Florida Basketball Coach Accused Of Stalking Sexual Harrasment
Florida Gators men's basketball gead coach Todd Golden is facing serious accusations of sexual harassment and stalking.www.outkick.com
If the reports are true he's left a digital trail so, right now doesn't sound great but we'll see.
I saw where he got a standing ovation at UF's game and I'm not trying to start any kind of discussion or anything but stuff like that rubs me the wrong way. I dont' think he shoudl be booed or shunned but I also don't think he should already be turned into some kind of martyr. I usually hate the "both sides" stuff but in this case both side rush too quickly to their sides and either crucify the guy or knight him way too early.
The trouble with that is that this isn't an isolated incident or limited to one individual.Fans are gonna typically going to make the subconscious choice to believe that their guy is innocent (as long as he’s winning). Reminds me of the Ole Miss-Hugh Freeze situation. OM fans were convinced that Freeze was an upstanding Christian man despite some of the smoke and fires out there about him.
Supposedly Golden is considering filing a defamation suit. Could be that he’s innocent and understandably wants to bury whoever is falsely accusing him or he’s using that as a scare tactic to try to get this to go away before his guilt is evident. Time will tell.
Not my area, but defamation cases are difficult. The first thing that comes to mind is that one may have trouble prevailing with a defamation suit if the alleged statements are involved in a Title 9 report. With a quick search, it looks like a mixed bag with different state laws. But in order to protect and encourage people to speak up, I would believe those kinds of statements are somewhat protected. Courtroom speech is protected so as to not limit the adversarial system. The trouble with that is that this isn't an isolated incident or limited to one individual.
