Colorado would smoke TN

At some point we gotta be honest, over the last couple of decades the Vols have been mediocre at best, consistently loosing to UF and if we do get the W… it’s a squeaker. It seems we are hell bent on sticking with same coaching staff, recruiting, and mediocre roster that keeps the Vols nation irrelevant. I’m sick of supporting that culture, I look at ( and I hate say it) Colorado, in less than one full season things are moving! Why in the hell can’t we create that momentum?

Did people already forget what Heupel did in year 2? We lost a Heisman candidate at QB, a Biletnikoff winner and another WR to the NFL. I wanted to believe Joe and company could step right in and not miss a beat, but obviously that’s not the case. We have a 5* QB waiting behind Joe. Blaming Heupel and culture and recruiting is absurd.

I totally get the feeling, and we’ve seen this show before with other coaches and not seeing the writing on the wall until it’s too late.

That said, it too early to indict Heupel IMO. Last year showed what is possible. There is still hope (although fleeting as it is right now) that something can click and we finish strong.

Something is off with the play calling this year and I don’t know if they don’t trust Milton or we just miss Golesh. This fascination with perimeter passing and swing passes out of the backfield is baffling. We made our money last year tearing up the mid level across the middle passing and it is non-existent this year.

I still the believe the defense, with its faults, is better than last year and good enough for 10 wins if they can fix the offense to replicate last year.

We literally had the Colorado season last year. The Vols were probably the most talked about team in CFB all last year

Colorado is playing mediocre teams, good win in name by beat TCU but be real about the turnaround with a nice run of top 25 teams coming up. Tennessee beat Bama and Clemson in the same year and captured #1 for a brief period. Not sure we get a better momentum than that heading into a season.

We just lost to a reject QB from Wisconsin and made a less talented FL team look like world beaters. Say what you want but if you can't beat a team in their home stadium in 20 years, then face it, you are average at best.

First year head coach deion sanders would take Colorado and absolutely destroy our 3rd year SEC head coach. Heupel sucks.
He’s played nobody with a pulse. They should’ve lost a home game to a 24pt underdog. Some of the late calls against CSU were comically bad, similar to our game. Refs allowed them to keep it close for eye balls and when it was time to follow the script of soap opera that is CU and Deion, the flags came out. Utah’s defense will keep them in check (baby Sanders is avg when he’s pressured and he refuses to run), Penix will throw for 400+ on their secondary, Oregon’s speed and talent will overwhelm them so on and so on. They’ve played 2 of the worst D-1 teams in their first 3 games.

Some would wonder if it was Heupel or if he had the stars align by having Hooker, Tillman, Hyatt and several other pieces on the roster he inherited to work with? Let's be honest. He went 12-1 with Frost's roster and his record got worse each year after that. The next couple of seasons here will be very interesting to watch.

Set it up and let’s run it. Sanders couldn’t win the Celebration in two tries but somehow ready now. Solid win against TCU in name and double OT against Colorado St.

Deion Sanders can kiss my ass! Biggest media parasite there ever was.
He’s using the media like no other, recruiting. Saban, Pete Carroll, Urban and Kiffin all mastered using the media to hype up and recruit players you don’t normally have access too.

If a UT team played a team that they were favored by any where from 25 to 37 points on betting lines and we had to go to double Over Time to win at home our field. You'd be the first on here to say Fahr the coach but somehow you think Deion accomplished something great beating an also ran in Double OT at Home. 😂

I admit, I'm surprised Colorado beat TCU but they almost lost to a team that was 3-9 last year last night. We'll see how well Deon Sanders & Colorado does once they endure a couple of blowout losses that are coming up soon. My guess is his "look at me", rah-rah junk will start wearing very thin at that point.

Say what you want about Sanders but his kids play, passionate and hard for him. I agree that they haven’t played a truly quality team yet so they will show what they are over the next few weeks but you can’t question their effort & energy.

Something Tenn lacks
Agree, but I though Heupel was a player's coach? Guy seems like the salt of the earth so why aren't the players busting it for him? Maybe the talent isn't there. You can't control that, but you can control your attitude and effort. Say what you will about Utah being "average", but they played their butts off vs UF. Something seems...well...off.
