Colts vs Jets

this comes up every year, and every year I will say the same thing, once he is playing for someone I hate, he is the enemy. I don't care who he is playing, I despise the Colts.

I guess there are two types of fans: Vol fans who follow the NFL on the side, but who eat sleep and drink Tennessee football and NFL fans who like to root for the Vols but who put them a distant second or worse in the old sports priority list. I am definitely in the first group!

I recognize what he has done for the program but that's over now, just because he is a Tennessee guy doesn't mean I have to pull for him. He is on an enemy team and I have no problem seeing him lose.

Just sayin' you would NOT feel that way if you had been a Vol fan when Peyton was there. Would be impossible.

Guess I'm not a true fan then?

Very little.

Oh no I would still, there is a divide between college and pro. Once he left college he crossed that line so he is fair game now, just like all opposing players.

way to pull out the true fan argument there buddy. It is every bit as ridiculous here as it is in any other discussion.

I'd say most on here are Tennessee Vols fans first.

Vols fans can hate Peyton all they want IDGF. However, trolling because he was upset about losing is weak.

How was that trolling? Did I get lost and end up on a Colts message board?

Don;t call yourself a Vol fan and delight in our favorite son's misery. You already admitted today that you didn't root for the basketball team. I'll let the other posters draw their own opinions of you.

Thank you Bill

Sorry. Don't buy it. Unless your team beats Peyton Manning you shouldn't be happy to see him upset. That man has meant far too much to our program.

first off, you're welcome emain

Secondly, what has Peyton meant to our program? 4 losses to Florida? The 1998 Orange Bowl? The embarrassing loss to Memphis in 96? There is nothing worse than people that tell me I'm supposed to root for Peyton just because he's Peyton. He's not our son. Give me Al Wilson, Or Dale Carter. Or how about Jason Witten, the greatest tight end in the game, who's my age and grew up beating us up in high school? Or Aubrayo Franklin? He was born in my hometown. Or Gerald Sensabaugh, growing up one town over? Do you realize how many Vols are in the NFL?

For you die-hard vol fans, Erik Ainge just advanced to the second round.

Colts roster is weak, but Jim Caldwell is a joke. He reminds me of Larry Coker.

Exactly. That's the difference with him and Dungy. If Peyton was struggling Dungy would take over and calm every one down and get things straight. That only needs to happen 3 times a year. And in every playoffs there will be a game where you just can't let Peyton be checkmated. Dungy knew this and helped out his qb and Peyton understood this if he wanted to win a champ. Caldwell has no control overthis team. He doesn't know how to realign a roster and he has no idea how to help Peyton in critical situations. How can you not pick up a half decent wr or te during the season when everybody gets hurt. Nice job.

amazing how people that claim to not care about Peyton are usually the first to show up once he loses.

and he was 0-3 Bill. At least get your stats right

By his logic, one has to root for about 16 or so NFL teams to be a true fan.

If I had to pull for every former Vol I would have to pull for the Patriots at some point. Yeah, that is never going to happen

Why you so emotional about this?
