Tommy Tiernan is one of the funniest guys I've ever heard. He's irish and not really that popular here, but he's definitely worth checkin out.

I don't get the appeal of Jeff Dunham. When he doesn't have his puppets out, he fails miserably, and then again, he is only mildly humorous with them. Saw his thing on Comedy Central Friday night. Well, some of it anyway. Turned it off a short while into it.

in much the same way, I don't get Dane Cook. he's not funny, has a piss poor delivery, and generally takes way too long to get anywhere.

I'll actually take a stand here...

If I didn't recognize a lot of Dane Cook's material as being at least partially copied, I would think he was great. I think his appeal is pretty much only to the under 21 crowd, which I'm a part of. You guys may not like his delivery, but every single one of my friends (early 20's and under) finds the stuff great.

They don't really watch many other comedians, so they won't recognize anything from anybody else's bits. And all his material has to do with house parties, drinking and sex.

I laugh at his stuff and find his delivery to be fantastic. Not quite up there with my favorite comedians (Jim Gaffigan, Brian Regan) but pretty damned good.

1. George Carlin(RIP) - Greatest comedian of all-time.
2. Lewis Black
3. Jeff Dunham
4. Katt Williams
5. Carlos Mencia

My top 5. If I had to pick just one, well, Carlin would be my pick.

I remember in 2006, when I had no idea who Carlin even was. Saw a comedy special by a man name "George Carlin" one stormy afternoon, and watched it. Been a fan of Carlin ever since. However, I really didn't find the last special before he died all too funny. It was kinda funny, but not how Carlin was back in the 70s and 80s. I've always thought the funniest one he ever did was, "What Am I Doing in New Jersey".

I would consider Carlos Mencia even more of a fraud than Cook..

I forgot to mention Bill Hicks as well, im not sure if he was mentioned yet on here.

Mencia and Cook are worthless.

Mencia I actually find very funny. Dane Cook is garbage, and I really don't see why my peers think he's funny.
