Russel Brand on Comedy Channel right now. This guy is quickly climbing up my list. I love his style and British comedy is better than American (most of the time).

The Office isn't my favorite show. Not to mention The US version of the Office is absolutely nothing like the UK version of the Office in the humor it presents.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I've actually watched some of the British show, and a little of the American show. While, some of the stuff is different, for sure, most of the core of the show stuck over in the transition from the UK to the US version.

1) I've watched both series of the UK version. While humorous, it isn't as funny as the American version.

2) The humor is definitely different. The characters are different. They tried to make the characters pretty much exact replicas in the first season of the US version, and the ratings were poor. They changed the Michael character and the show got much better ratings.

they really wanted the american version to take on its own persona instead of being a replica so they let the characters just do their own thing

they changed it because the majority of Americans don't enjoy the same kind of humor that the Brits do. Personally, I found the UK version 24,502,729 times better than the American one. They wanted to copy it and changed it to something that would work over here. It happens all the time.
