Wait ....hold up....so you're telling me Vitello hasn't earned it yet? In 4 years....well honestly 3 years....he has taken this program from bottom of the barrel in the SEC all the way to winning the SEC East....and a top 8 seed in the tournament. He's won 40+ games in back to back seasons ( probably would be 3 seasons if we would have finished last season). What a horrible take. We better pony up...or he will be gone.
We’ve gone from trying to survive an SEC season to winning a division title.
That may be harder to do than winning a regional.
I’ve seen enough.
Normally, I’d agree but Aggies firing makes the timing perfect for Vitelli. They will throw all the money at it. If we want to keep him, it’s going to cost us.No doubt it’s been extremely impressive and a nice raise is warranted and has been earned.
Imo what we have seen isn’t enough to convince me that Tenn needs to make TV the highest paid coach in the SEC or double his salary though

Also, I don’t think it will be long before every SEC baseball coach is making a million plus.No doubt it’s been extremely impressive and a nice raise is warranted and has been earned.

If you’re not ready to invest, how can you be a big donor?
I mean we paid an offensive coordinator $1.2 million to put one of the most lackluster and horrible offenses on the field in quite some time. A coordinator!
I see no reason why we can’t pay Vitello close to $1 million for what he has done. Besides, it’s not money he wants for himself. It’s money for his staff. That’s even less effort.
I agree and it shows in the product. LSU and A&M didn’t go backwards. The rest of the league went forward.I’m not criticizing anyone. I’m pretty sure we don’t have any singular donor worth more than ESPN and they have invested in baseball, softball, lots. Now, I know there’s some big time folks like the Haslams out there that have given not only to UT but to all kinds of local schools and organizations. I commend them for doing so and it’s to great benefit to the kids.
The majority of teams in the SEC have looked at this just like the administration is now and have decided to invest in baseball. Why not here?
