Community

No question. It wasn't like the old Community, but it was light-years better than those first three turds NBC dropped on us. Maybe they can get back into the swing of things by season's end.

I don't know why I posted those starburns things. Those are stupid, and not representative of the genius of Community at all, lol.

Last week's was better and more like the old Community.

With the word that some of the actors are signing pilots for next season, I'd say this will be it. I just hope they've written it in a way that will give some closure and not end the series on some cliffhanger.

I hope so, too.

Day of mourning after the season 4 finale. NBC Studios' flag better be flying at half-mast.

Was it just me wishful thinking, or was last night's episode really good?

I was really hoping it was gonna be a full on Memento parody, because that's one of my favorite movies, but the tattoos were the only reference that I noticed.

I thought it was the best of the season, so yeah, it was really good.

With that said, I might just be biased because the rest have been so poor.

Just watched last week's episode. It was pretty mediocre.

I also noticed that in the new Accord commercial where the little boy goes over and talks to the little girl in the back seat, he offers her a potato chip, and it's a bag of Let's chips.

Watched last weeks yesterday afternoon. Not the worst of the season, but def. not as good as the week before.

Don't give up just yet.

Could Dan Harmon Return to Community for Season 5? - IGN

It seems like its really obvious a half hour episode isn't long enough to develop the ideas in this show. I actually kinda liked the season finale, but as usual, it seemed to get cut off before the plot had time to develop.

I think I'm seriously just tired of Abed. His act was funny and cute about 2 seasons ago, now it's just annoying. Plus as much as I like Joel McHale on The Soup, I've grown to care for him less on Community. He's just not nearly as funny in a scripted environment.

Plus I think it's going to suck without Chevy Chase.

Wow, this actually got renewed? I watched the other night just assuming it was the series finale. Would be neat if Harmon could come back next year.

Wow! Really?

Wow! Really?

Yes, really. Abed has become incredibly annoying. Like everything else, his act that was the joke has now become a joke.

I think Joel McHale has become pretty stale on the show as well. He seems like he's almost bored with it now. The rest of the cast is still ok, I don't really have any issues with them.

I think not having Pierce will be like the Office not having Creed. It's just not right.

I would've kind of agree on Abed, disagree on McHale but could at least see why someone might say that, but can't really understand about Pierce. He has always seemed like a bit of an afterthought to the show for me and never seemed necessary. I'm not even remotely concerned with him not being a part of the show going forward.

This season was fine. Was it on par with the absolutely fantastic seasons to which we've been accustomed the last three years? Hell no. Was it better than every other sitcom on television, save for Parks and Recreation? Absolutely.

The new showrunners need to get their sea legs and realize that trying to replicate the first three seasons is an exercise in futility. "Hey, let's concoct an amalgamation of paintballs, doppleDean, fascist Chang, sultry Annie, The Cape... oh, and we haven't done a ****ing Matrix episode yet!" does not make for a good finale. Callbacks to an era which can't be matched isn't a great look. This season's quality definitely dropped, and I'm inclined to believe that Chevy may have had a good reason for bailing on the show. 13 episodes wasn't enough time to flesh out the mainline A-plots, obviously; Chang working for City College to take down Greendale and then abruptly becoming a good guy because he handed out flyers in a froyo shop and brought Abed and the group together? Absurd.

Take the show out of the study room and don't inundate the viewer with movie references that aren't nearly as well executed as they were in the Harmon days, though? Do that and we'll get six seasons and a movie after all.
