Confederations Cup U.S -v- Spain

You're crazy. Easily top five. more than likely the best of all time. For the United States to beat the #1 ranked team who just won the Euro and unbeaten for over 30 games is incredible. You can't even name 3 wins that are better than this.

I know I can't. They just ran through some of the biggest wins in USA soccer history, and the only ones that sounded similar were against Mexico a few years back and then Colombia.

This is one of the biggest ever. Glad I got to see it.

This is by far the best win ever. We just beat one of the best international teams by 2.

1950 USA vs. England WC group
2002 vs. Mexico WC round of 32

Ok, I can name 2. But there has to games that were bigger upsets.

I would argue that the win over Portugal in that same World Cup is more important than the one against Mexico.

It's only the second time we've beaten a number one ranked team... I dont know. I think this is really that far up there. It's top fivish.

The win over Columbia in 1994 was probably bigger for US soccer. The win over Portugal in 2002 was huge as well. I dunno though, if the US can win the Con Cup, this game looks mighty big.

You could. But the win against Mexico sent us to a place US Soccer has never been before, the quarterfinals.

I get that, but the win today puts us in a cup final. I know it's the Confederations Cup, but it was also against the #1 team in the world in a meaningful game.

Well, a Confederation Cup would probably make this a top 3 game all-time. I just don't see it. Obviously, this is one of the biggest upsets I've ever seen, but I keep think that in the long annuals of US Soccer history, there's gotta be something bigger.

Maybe this is the greatest upset of all-time for the American side. But I don't know all of the history of the USMNT, so I can't say for certain.

Truth.

Ok, maybe it's Top 5 all time. But, like I said before, I really can't say for sure.

I thought it would be interesting to see what kind of reaction this win got on the FIFA site. I went there and was pleasantly surprised by the reactions pretty warm. People from all over congratulating us and wishing us well in the future. Nice. Surprising to me, but nice. FIFA.com - The American dream realised

I have not seen the US play that hard and at that level since 2002. Wow is all I have to say. That and hell called back. They need a new shipment of jackets.

This might be my favorite soccer game ever. No wait, it is my favorite soccer game ever. Even better than watching Barca win the Treble. Even better than that.

Beat Brasil. Rematch time (assuming South Africa does not pull of upset). Going to miss Bradley severely at the center mid position. I expect Landon to move to center mid and Beasley to take Landons spot at left mid. What a win though! Let's hope we got enough in the tank for Sunday.

Spain certainly has to have one of the top national sides of all-time, so it does warrant conversation.

Who knows. Maybe a top 10 rating for us? Doubt it heavily, but who really knows?

If we win the cup then i think we will. we gotta jump 4 spots though.
