Conference Realignments

Maybe so; however, very few of the other schools considered will bring substantially more into the SEC. Yes, other schools may be able to bring in more money; but, not so much more it completely overshadows Louisville.

A&M, Missouri, TCU, WVU, Kansas, and pretty much any ACC school would all bring more revenue than Louisville.

Any article that lists Auburn as the most popular school in the SEC should be looked at with a great deal of skepticism.

It is obvioulsy not exact but it is something to go by slightly for discussion purposes.

Auburn did win the NC last year so they may currently be the most popular SEC team nationally.

Bandwagon fans exist.

USC, Texas, Oklahoma?

I'm all about conference pride but that beats anything the SEC will be able to do, unless they add FSU.

PAC 16 would have
USC
Texas
Oklahoma
Oregon
Oklahoma State

SEC would have
Alabama
Auburn
Georgia
Florida
LSU
Tennessee
Texas A&M
Virginia Tech

We still win.

Use the PODS for scheduling purposes, but the top team in the East and West still meet in Title game till a final 4 format is approved.

Thoughts? This seems like best case scenario for SEC.

Just throwing that out there based on that article you linked with Fans...

Clemson and GT don't bring us new states and markets that VT and WVU do.

Don't get me wrong I wouldn't complain with those but it is about finding a balance of adding a team with a following and expanding your footprint.

It's close...

The Pac 12 would have 3 of the top 10 all time, while the SEC has 2.

USC, Texas, and Oklahoma in the same conference is just insane.

I have to disagree. Under the right administration they have the facilities and the potential to be an SEC football team, their basketball team will immediately become one of the top if not the top team in the conference, there is a huge fan following, and their academics are higher than most SEC schools.

It is a school that has had much success as of late. There are only 2 schools in the entire country that have won a BCS bowl game, went to the mens basketball final four, womens basketball final four, and went to the college world series in the past 7 years. That is Florida and Louisville.

West Virginia is hands down a better choice than Louisville IMO. Not even close.

It definitely bridges the gap and may even make Pac 16 better at the top, but the SEC's depth would still prevail.

Also, everyone was talking about Texas A&M helping SEC recruiting. Texas and Oklahoma going to Pac12 definitely changes that, IMO.

Not really. The pitch is that you can play in the best conference in the country while still being assured that your family can see every game on TV, and can be reasonably assured to see you play in person regularly. That argument doesn't get changed with Texas in the Pac 12.

Just plain silly. The SEC has multiple programs with as much tradition as those.

Think the Texas and Oklahoma kids are gonna think that?

If they are convinced that the presence of OU and Texas makes the Pac-X the nation's best conference, then they were probably already convinced that the Big 12 was the nation's best conference. Those kids weren't coming to the SEC anyway.

Those that have the ability to think logically will now have in-state access to the the conference that they easily recognize as the best.

What's so easy about it?

Texas
USC
Oklahoma
Oregon

That's the 4 best teams in any conference. The depth of the SEC might be slightly better.

The SEC remains the best conference in the country, even with OU and Texas in the Pac-X.

This.

Texas is the most over-hyped team in college football. They've got more money than Warren Buffet, but only have one national title since 1970 to show for it.

In the lifetime of a 2012 high school recruit, five SEC schools have won a combined 9 national titles. No other conference comes close to that.
