USU has given up 100 yards rushing to anybody just twice in the last 40 games. The closest anybody came to getting two 100 yard rushers was having two guys go for 139 and 18 yards.

I think tennessee will win. But they aren't going to have 2 guys rush for 100 yards. In fact, odds are that Tennessee won't rush for 200 yards as an entire team combined.
NIU didn't do it with a top 10 rushing offense. wisconsin didn't do it with the #13 rushing offense. Auburn didn't do it (31st). byu didn't do it (7th).

Run defense is our team's biggest strength. We have 4 returning starters on the front 7. Only 1 on the front 7 didn't take at least 20-30 snaps a game all season last year. If there is a blowout, which there very well could be, it'll be due to your WRs, not your RBs (who I do think are good), especially not with 5 new starters in their first game together blocking for them.

This game will be close until Utah State wears down, the Vols are bigger, stronger and faster on both sides of the ball. That will be the difference.

Everybody be nice and simmer down. Let's give the utes, err aggies a nice Tennessee welcome. That way they won't feel so abused once our Vols kick thier azzes back to mission land.
In all seriousness, I hope the aggies bring their best game. I'm not worried about the outcome, I just really want to see our young men tested. Hope it stays an injury free game, a clean, hard fought game. A good prep game for the SEC gauntlet.

Thanks for the info Fick loved watching you guys last year. Got to see most of your season out here on the west coast and was hoping you'd pull it out on USC. Looking forward to watching you guys again. Good luck.

I don't gamble by principle. If I did... I would.

Why are the Vols only a 6 point favorite? Well, that's what happens when you have some down years with poorly coached teams and play a team that just had the best 3 consecutive years in its history.

It should bother you that even given the Vols recent walk through the valley and your visit to the mountain top... that UT is FAVORED.

We didn't wear down against USC's 4/5 star recruits. Or Wisconsins. Or Auburns. All on the road, all in front of raucous crowds.

I'm just not sure I understand the thought process, is it that Tenn is much better than those teams? (Wisconsin went to the Rose Bowl that year I believe, lost 20-14 to #7 Stanford). Is Neyland that much of a difference where players get worn down more there? The average temp/humidity at 7 pm in Knoxville in late August is typically around 75 degrees with 50% humidity, for comparison's sake it is 79 degrees with 45% humidity in Logan, UT right now.

Or are you guys assuming we will be worse (like SJT)? That would be like a USU fan saying Tenn will be worse than last year, we know little about your team just like you know little about ours.

So which is it?

Absolutely not. It's an SEC team (not named Kentucky or Vanderbilt), at home, against Utah State. I think the game is close to a toss up (as seen by the odds, I think it's technically 60/40 based on them), but the bookmakers expect the public to bet on Tenn so I think the odds are even a bit inflated.

Auburn were something like 28 or 30 point favorites in 2011 against us, returning almost no one from the year before.

So you have a few moral victories, congrats. But how many of those players do you still have on the current roster. Also, imagine competing against Fl, Ga, Alabama, then (BYU/USC). Your schedule is pitiful.
