The Watergate thing is at worst WH staff hired some bunglers to go find out what was going on with a wacko, and Nixon covered up when they blundered. This is absolute corruption - the use of legitimate government services and agencies including what is supposed to be the premier and most incorruptible law enforcement in the country to take down a political opponent. Except for people disappearing in the night this ranks right up there with the Nazis and Soviets under Stalin and Beria. I just don't get the lack of outrage.

This has dragged out so long, the investigators are backed into a corner. If they proceed, the screeching about all the stuff the last administration (which included Biden) did is going to become not about their wrongdoing but about using the allegations to "steal" an election. It's dead unless Trump wins, or perhaps he uses Nov and Dec for scorched earth in Jan - that could be fun. The only people who could really run with it are the press and there's not a chance in hell of that happening. Leaks could keep it simmering, but the press are going to run interference for the dems as usual and play whack-a-mole with the sources.

It is the reason I no longer support compromise with the Dem party and just as soon see them crushed. It has effectively killed the Republic.

And again the people deserve to know the answer and the investigation must be completed just as Mueller’s was... right?

Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo is reporting this morning that there will be no Durham interim report or indictments coming before the election. By the wording, she may actually be saying there’s no report coming at all.

This isn’t someone leaking to the Times to cover their backside. Bartiromo is typically solid and is not anti-Trump in the least.

No interim report. That means nothing before the election but doesn't necessarily mean nothing at all. They probably want to avoid a "Comey moment" by doing something that would seemed done only to influence the election.

We will see if they come up with anything at all sometime after the election and before Inauguration Day, is my guess.

What a mess.
