Washington DC grifter!

Eric Swalwell's campaign continues luxury spending, including at upscale Paris hotels and restaurants

Eric Swalwell's campaign shows no signs of slowing its luxury spending, racking up more international costs at the likes of a five-star Paris hotel, federal filings show.

The California Democrat's campaign has consistently dropped cash into high-end items, such as limousine services, flights and posh accommodations. His latest filings show the trend has spilled over into this year's second quarter.

Swalwell's campaign, comprised of just two paid staffers, reported spending nearly $38,000 on travel expenses between May 19 and June 30, including $3,538.94 in late May for catering for a fundraising event at France's "iconic" Ritz Paris, a posh hotel that features several upscale bars and reservation rooms.

"Whenever you require nourishment for both body and soul, the Ritz Paris is ready," the highly-rated hotel's website states. "Formal, brasserie, or just afternoon tea; It's all here. With bars, we set the bar high. The lavish Bar Vendôme, the stellar new Ritz Bar and the iconic Bar Hemingway each boasts a menu of cocktails, from classic to unique. One's guaranteed to hit the spot."

Meh, we can go tit for tat on that all day.

I loathe them all for this. The way they spend campaign money on personal luxuries. Congress ought to do something about it..... lol

4 Republicans who Voted to Impeach Trump face their moment of reckoning

GOP Rep. Dan Newhouse could have had an open invitation to appear on national TV since his January 2021 vote to impeach Donald Trump. But he eschewed any chance to raise his profile or pad his fundraising — likely hoping that staying quiet would offer a firmer path to reelection.

The Washington Republican is part of a small cohort of impeachment-supporting House Republicans running for reelection this year. But the group has split in two over how to address that vote — embrace it, or largely act like it didn’t happen.

Now, four of them will go through primaries over the next month: Newhouse, Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-Wash.) and Rep. Peter Meijer (R-Mich.) on Aug. 2 and Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) in Aug. 16. The contests that will reveal whether either strategy can help them outrun the wrath of the former president and his base.

‘She’s Done Us Dirty’: Wyoming Voters Slam Liz Cheney on CNN

Wyoming voters slammed Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) on CNN over the weekend for participating in the partisan January 6 Committee.

“Can I cuss?” one voter responded when asked about Cheney’s role on the committee. “She’s done us dirty,” the voter said. “Look at how she’s done Trump. I’m a Trump fan.”

In 2020, former President Donald Trump won about 70 percent of the vote in Wyoming. “She’s supposed to be supporting him,” the voter continued. “She’s a Republican, for crying out loud.”

“Personally, I think she’s had three too many [terms],” a second voter said.

“Why doesn’t he [Trump] have a defense team in that courtroom?” a third voter asked when questioned about Cheney’s claim that she is defending the rule of law by helping Democrats on the committee. “That ain’t the rule of law. That’s a kangaroo court.”

Democrat Marcy Kaptur Claims to Support Police in Campaign Ads Despite Record

Biden-2-640x480.jpg

Vulnerable Ohio Democrat Rep. Marcy Kaptur has released campaign ads claiming to be pro-law enforcement, despite her voting record to the contrary and being supported by groups that want to defund the police.

Over the last month, Kaptur has released ads claiming that she is pro-law enforcement. Despite touting that she helped put new police officers on the street, Kaptur voted for legislation that eliminates protections for law enforcement and she has been supported by groups that want to defund the police. She has also tried to depict her opponent as an extremist.

Last year, she co-sponsored and voted for H.R. 1280, the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2021, which would “defund the police” by costing hundreds of millions of dollars each year, enact restrictions on policing practices, and eliminate protections for law enforcement.

EXCLUSIVE: 'Kevin Costner is a Pretend Rancher - I'll take Wyoming's support any day': Liz Cheney's GOP primary rival Harriet Hageman mocks her 'Hollywood' endorsement as SHE dominates polls ahead August 16 vote

Rep. Liz Cheney's Republican opponent Harriet Hageman slammed the Wyoming congresswoman's 'Hollywood' endorsement from Kevin Costner on Tuesday, exactly two weeks before their heated race comes to a close.

Hageman is an attorney whose bid to unseat Cheney as Wyoming's lone lawmaker in the House of Representatives has garnered the support of Donald Trump.

The former president's endorsement has been enough to skyrocket Hageman to the top of Wyoming GOP voter polls.

On the other side, Cheney's high-profile role on the House January 6 committee has earned her bipartisan and high-profile accolades - fueling her critics' accusations that former Vice President Dick Cheney's daughter is out-of-touch with her local constituents and is more concerned with goings-on in Washington than Wyoming.

That perception was further fueled by Cheney's endorsement from Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Costner, Hageman suggested to DailyMail.com when asked for her reaction to the news.

'Yellowstone is a good show, but Kevin Costner is a pretend rancher in a Hollywood production shot mostly in Montana, not Wyoming,' Hageman said, referring to the show Costner is starring in.

'And I'd bet that if he had to work a real ranch for a day, he'd call his agent to get him out of there.

She added, 'I'll take the support of the people of Wyoming any day of the week over a liberal actor who voted for Joe Biden.'

'Ran the entire board!' Trump celebrates successful primary night after defeat of pro-impeachment Republican Peter Meijer, victory for Blake Masters and slew of endorsement wins - while Arizona governor race goes down to the wire

Donald Trump has been having a field day celebrating his litany of successful endorsements in Tuesday night's primary races, boasting to followers on his Truth Social app from the early hours of Wednesday and throughout the morning.

Voters in Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, Washington and Arizona went to the polls for several key primary races that will define the next three months ahead of the November midterm elections. On the GOP side, it was a referendum on whether voters want a Trump-led future or a return to more establishment principles.

In Michigan, one of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach the ex-president over the US Capitol riot lost to a former Trump administration official named John Gibbs.

A Trump-backed gubernatorial candidate also bested a crowded primary field to face incumbent Democrat Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in the fall.

'Not a good time for impeachers - 7 down, 3 to go!'

Trump-backed Arizona GOP Senate candidate Blake Masters, a venture capitalist who has promoted the white nationalist 'Great Replacement' theory in the past, was declared the winner of his race overnight.

Republicans Short On Cash heading into last stretch before midterm elections: 'I'd be worried as hell'

Democratic candidates have significantly more cash on hand heading into the last months before the midterm elections than their Republican counterparts, suggesting November's red wave may not be as assured as Republicans have hoped.

Of all money stashed in war chests for congressional candidates through the second quarter of 2022, Democratic candidates accounted for 57% of the $1.2 billion cash on hand, while Republicans accounted for 43%, Federal Election Commission filings shared with the Washington Examiner reveal. This widens the first-quarter gap from earlier this year, when Republicans held 46% of the cash on hand and Democrats had 54%.

This money disadvantage is wider in House races, with Republican candidates owning 41% of the total $803 million cash on hand and the Democrats holding 59%. Though the disparity shrank on the Senate side, with Republican candidates holding 47% of the $383 million total cash on hand and Democrats 53%, this is a reversal of the first quarter, in which Republicans held a 2-point lead in this metric.

'Trump is a coward. A real man wouldn't lie to his supporters': Dick Cheney eviscerates Donald in campaign Ad For Daughter Liz and calls him 'the biggest threat to the Republic in our nation's history'

Dick Cheney eviscerated Donald Trump as the greatest threat to the United States of all time in a new campaign ad for his daughter, Rep. Liz Cheney, who is facing steep primary prospects.

'In our nation's 246 year history there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our Republic than Donald Trump,' Cheney said in a new clip.

The congresswoman brought out her 81-year-old former vice president dad as a last ditch effort to defy recent polling that puts her squarely behind primary rival Harriet Hageman ahead of an Aug. 16 primary.

Hageman led Cheney by more than 20 points in a late July poll by the Casper-Star Tribune and Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy.

The challenger held a 52-percent majority in the survey, while just 30 percent of people backed Cheney. Eleven percent said they were undecided.

Hageman is former President Trump's choice to unseat Cheney for her loud opposition to his election fraud claims and key role in the Jan. 6 subcommittee.

'Lynn and I are so proud of liz for standing up for the truth doing whats right,' the vice president added. 'Liz is fearless. She never backs down from a fight and there is nothing more important she will ever do than make sure Donald Trump is never again near the Oval Office.'

Respondents were quick to point Cheney's heavy hand in the Iraq War launched by President Bush.

'Isn't your dad a war criminal?' one user wrote back on Twitter.
