What happened at South Carolina is awesome. What happened at MS State is awesome. (Hope MS State's attendance numbers will greatly increase. There were lots of maroon shirts at the NCAA Finals. However, lots waited until Saturday/Sunday to come to Dallas.) Hope most of all TN can increase the winning percent and attendance. So hoping we'll be in Columbus next April. For the South Carolina fan who is catching grief on here - congratulations and hope your team continues to excel. Some haters on here have called my posts stupid. Don't pay any attention to them. That said, hope we get wins over y'all next season!

These days, even Alabama can conquer Tennessee's arena.

So, no, the Lady Vols aren't the queens of attendance anymore. They are going to have to lure new fans by regularly beating Top 5 opponents like they once did.

Will that ever happen? I don't know. But if it ever does, you better hold on tight to that shiny new crown, 'cause the Lady Vols fans are gonna want it back. You can bank on that! :)

Let's for a moment consider the possibility (heaven forbid) that the LVs over the next 10 years never return to the top of basketball rankings, or never come close to another final four and and have difficulty making the top 25 in the polls.

How would that affect attendance? Would fans lose interest, would this forum shrink to just a few posts now and then?

It's been 9 seasons now that results have been better than average, but not near past performance. Who here would hang in and who would move on to less painful pursuits?

For the price they pay I would get season tickets. I am on a fixed income and usually do the 6 pack. If they have the $99 special I will probably do it. Ticket prices is our biggest obstacle on our crowds I think.

With 4 SEC titles in a row we are one year wonders ? See, this is why I spoke out to start with. I did not slam or question your program...it was the other way around. I have had many opportunities to rub it in your face but championships are fleeting and fluid from year to year (unless you are UCONN). I just said show some respect, nothing more.

There's respect when it's earned. You and your cocky friends are visiting our house (uninvited) and talking about how much better your house is.

One of you and you were bragging about your crowd of fans. Folks just saying that it would be easy to get 5000 more fans if the games were nearly free.

And didn't we share one of those SEC's and beat you handily last year on your floor in front of your 14000 chickens?

Just saying, if you wanna talk on your terrific accomplishments and have others share that with you, you might want to tone it down on an opponent's board. Jmo.

I'm a Tennessee fan but handily is not the word I'd use. It was a close game on a questionable foul call, let's not get carried away.

2 points and a bad call is handily? Give me a break Coates/ Wilson only played 20 minutes of that game and still nearly managed to win. Also the year Tenn shared the regular season title we beat you all outright and in the SEC tourney Championship to get the outright Crown.

I was invited by the people who run the board. I did nothing but defend our program. That "handily" was by 2 points. Like "I" said...we make it affordable for the fans so we must not need the money as much as the Tennessee program does.

Superfly, my personal hope is that fans of other teams will continue to post here but try extra hard to understand if some of us are a bit hypersensitive these days.

These past few years have been a painful time for fans of Tennessee athletics, but, I think, perhaps most painful for us Lady Vol fans who lost our hero long before it was supposed to happen. Gosh, I just realized that Tuesday will be the first anniversary of Pat's death. :(

Anyway, keep coming back... but throw on your extra-thick skin 'cause some folks are not gonna feel friendly until the Lady Vols get their act together.

Correction. Tennessee and SC shared the regular season title, with Tennessee winning the H2H matchup as well as the SEC tournament after UK (?) upset SC in the semis.

But I agree that SC is the team to beat in the SEC...

That is for general admission season tickets (sit where available). Corner reserved is $40, and full reserved is $60. Certain sections of seating however requires Gamecock Club membership. General one-game admission (walk-up traffic) is $8, which I believe is what UT's is...

Honestly I think it's great that SC makes tickets affordable so that more people can attend the games. I'm sure they are creating a ton of new women's basketball fans...especially with SC's success. The same thing is happening at MS State they are getting a lot of love in Starkville. This is not a dig, but the WNBA basically gives tickets away for free and people still don't show up. However you get people in to enjoy the game is good for the sport.

This and the Boneyard are the only two sites dedicated to the women's game. I usually come to get information on women's basketball across the board. I have never seen anyone insult the Gamecock program until we started winning SEC championships. It went to a new level after we won the national championship. It's sad that some can't take others winning without trying to put flaws and innuendos where there are none. Thanks for being a game fan as well as a team fan. UCONN wins and I have always saluted them. They know what they are doing...much like Summit did years before Geno.

I thought you'd like "handily". You act as if Coates/Wilson only played 20 minutes because they were just resting. Naw, they couldn't keep up with our speed and fouled us regularly. They were on the bench because we put them there.

You are certainly in no position to quarrel, especially with the past 3 underachieving seasons. If you all are so happy over a two point win then you can have it. We'll see who will be doing all the taking next year.

I have always said...you were...we are....We all know it's 8-1.....but we got the last one. I guess the fact you try to belittle it says more about you than you care to admit...that said. I did not come here to bash your program (never have, unlike you bashing ours). I have been here since 2008 and we have won 4 championships since then without a word out of me.

True basketball fans are always welcome. But SCSpur seemed to throw shots at the program. So unless you and SC Spur are the same person I don't think it was directed towards you. I respect Dawn and what she has done at SC and am glad an SEC team brought the championship back to the league. She has continually supported Pat and also supported Holly through some rough times she will always have my respect!
