Cooper Leaving

I have no inside information, but I read on the Boneyard ,,,,.

Nope.

There is the potential for this to be frightening since PG duties will be handled by two freshman with no experienced players able to mentor them along at that position...or it could become a breakout party for one, two or both of the freshmen guards. We'll see where this goes. We won't have to wait long to see just how good Evina or Annie are.

....Remember a girl named Crystal Dangerfield, she was a freshman too.

No matter, freshman -- senior,,, Can they play? Can they make those around them better?

A baller is a baller

Add me to the list of "didn't see this coming". I enjoyed watching Te'a and her style of play, though she went through many growing pains her first(and now only) season as a Lady Vol. Now,since nobody else has broached the subject,I wonder if there is more underlying this decision. Is it just a personal choice,or is there more discord than we thought on the team? Maybe some of our insiders can or will address these things. At any rate,I wish her the best in her future endeavors.

OK...............VN will have NO MORE SPECULATIONS!

agreed?!?!

I was talking more so of the I read on the boneyard crap. I just know nothing good will come of it. Like, D didn't just have a post on her ig wishing Te'a a Happy Birthday a few weeks ago. And it can't be about the freshman, because only two weeks ago she made a post talking about she was excited to get back on the court with her sisters.

I would not have bet on this, yet always considered it a strong possibility....

I wish T'ea much luck in her future ball play

Turn over machine...possibly not working as hard on recovery as we wanted...ala Brewer. Best of luck but i think it will be for the best for us in the long run. Hopefully Middleton will have a change of heart and take the point guard role and teacher to heart. She has major game knowledge to teach some young stars. Maybe some senior grad transfer is lerking around

I love how some just wave this off. This is a freakin' disaster. Something is deeply wrong with the program as we've just lost our starting point guard and a reserve guard who was our best three-point shooter. Any hope of having a big year just took a major hit. Either there are deep personality clashes on the team, or Warlick simply can't hold the team together, or both--but this is bad.

I can say I'm surprised. I never thought of this happening. Makes no sense to me but I guess there are some underlying personality conflicts that run deeper than I suspected. I'm shocked at this one but I was also shocked when Lex was transferring. Wow. Just wow.

This isn't particularly surprising to those that followed closely. There were several times this year that she was "away from the team" for periods of time because of various things.

I was very surprised she was allowed to return after the Christmas break, to be honest.

She does not have to set out since she was out last year, correct? Georgia bound!

She indeed has to sit out an additional year. She will be a redshirt junior when she can next play in November 2018. I doubt she will be released to another SEC school.

Wouldn't be surprised, their relationship didn't seem as close as it was when she came (judging by their previous interactions on twitter until now). Diamond also seemed develop a relationship with MeMe that Te'a seemed to once shared with Diamond (and MeMe). Wonder now if this changes Alexa's mind since she has yet to announce any schools or anything of that sort and since there would be a few minutes available for her now

It has nothing to do with her relationship with any of her teammates. This is because of her away from the court. I don't think it's fair to elaborate further in a public forum.

This doesn't change anything for Alexa. Her decision was bigger than basketball.

So a player repeatedly getting into trouble away from the court is Holly's fault now? She had no choice but to make this move.

This is a blow no doubt but when you look back at it I guess it's not surprising like someone before me had stated. I wish she was here because she is a baller and I wish her luck. Transfers this year have been running rampid and it is not just a Holly thing. Ohio State lost two players who would have played a lot this year, ND lost two players , Louisville lost three players and one was a three year starter. It is just the name of the game. I am not downplaying her loss at all but kids just have more options and if they don't like something they can just leave. Sort of is the new age way.

Speaking of ND transfers anyword on Boley? I know we were in her top 5 ... I just have heard if she landed anywhere.

I know this is a cooper thread but since it crossed my mind I thought I'd ask?!?

The Lady Vol basketball program, like almost all of UT sports, is a complete trainwreck. Look and see, what is in really GREAT shape, other than women's softball?

We are now officially Vanderbilt without the academic excuses.

This is weird. She just tweeted a few weeks ago how she couldn't wait to get on the court with her girls. She retweeted Diamond graduation post so I would think they are still cool.

Omg! I am sadly stunned and disappointed. She was one of my fav players on the team. Loved the way she played and I was really expecting big things from her this year.

I'm so bummed out. It must be big for her to transfer and leave.

Yeah but to hear you tell it EVERYTHING is a freakin' disaster.

I look at Cooper and Middleton transferring as good things. Our staff struggles with managing large rosters. We don't do well with too many options. We try to make everyone happy, substitute at odd times and our teams recently have lacked on-court chemistry.

This clears the way for Westbrook (a true pg) to run the show and Hayes can back her up. It makes me even more excited about next year bc I was worried Cooper or Middleton would start at pg.

Still not sure why so many fans act like a freshman pg is sacrilege. Of course she'll have moments when she makes mistakes but each year freshmen PGs across the nation lead their programs. It's not rare.

Or people can't follow the rules and behave themselves off court.

Nice to know and I was just stating based on potential relationships with players that she may or may not have developed.

As I stated I wasn't surprised because I notice how after the Christmas break she wasn't at a lot of the home games and Green was and it just seemed ironic that one would be there and the other wouldn't and they are recovering from similar injuries

Diamond... Here's that name again. Just don't think she fits in. (just me) It seems every time something off key comes up since she arrived, her name is involved.
However, outwardly Holly just doesn't seem to make a player excited to hang in there. Just some of my thinking. It would really be nice to know the goings on with the whole program. Coaching, players, the whole thing. There must be something besides playing time involved with these transfers. Just not fitting in doesn't get it either. What the he-- is the real problem?

For me it keeps coming back to Holly.....
