Cooper Leaving

Yea im not sure i believe it either. We really shouldn't make those types of accusations without facts. I would hate for some of you to be potentially defaming her character. Now if its true thats one thing but we shouldnt share that type of hearsay and speculation.

If this happened and it was taped where is the video? I do not believe this BS.

Until the tape "appears", I'm with you.

And no reason to believe Alexa is involved. Indiscriminately throwing out names to make wild guesses with no factual basis should be ban worthy. That's the way all kinds of suppositions get turned into "facts". Jmo.

(ain't nothing humble about that one, gule.)

My fervent hope is that if a video showing two Lady Vols fighting ever existed that any and all copies of it have since been deleted. It would be so embarrassing for all involved if that were ever to go widely public, and I can't imagine why ANYone would want to see such a thing. Jeez.

If another lady vol filmed it, they need to be dismissed too. If this really happened, it's a shame mo lady vol stepped in and tried to soothe things over. Now theyve lost a pretty good pg bc of such stupidity ..

Te'a was not a good point guard. She MAY become a decent shooting guard. I hope she goes to a team that plays UT. I'd love to see her face Westbrook and Hayes.

Alexa would not lower herself to get into a brawl. She is classy and never in a million years would she be involved in such.

Hard to believe if this happen that both would leave.

Since reading comprehension isn't your thing, Alexa isn't a part of this. At all.

If Cooper was Ali then who was Frasier if it wasn't Alexa ?
Just curious.

Strictly a bad joke. I have no knowledge of an incident involving Te'a beyond the rumors posted here.

Enjoyed watching her play and was looking forward to more...

But if the speculation on this board is accurate, unlike most here, I personally doubt CHW handled it in the best manner possible. Not a Holly hater, nor a fan. Just an uninspired long-time observer.

I’m not a research expert but I was able to compile a list of freshmen from the major conferences who started at point guard last season: Destiny Slocum (Maryland), Sabrina Inoescu (Oregon), Taryn McCutcheon (Michigan State), Kathleen Doyle (Iowa), Tyasha Harris (South Carolina).

Also, here’s a list of returning players last season who started point guard duties as freshmen: Lindsay Allen (Notre Dame), Jordin Canada (UCLA), Ashley Deary (Northwestern), Gabbi Ortiz (Oklahoma), Kelsey Mitchell (OSU), Siera Thompson (Michigan), Teniya Page (Penn State), Janiah McKay (Auburn) and Texas’ Brooke McCarty started about half of her games as a freshman.

I think the team would be much better with a new coaching staff and I wouldn’t be terribly disappointed if DD didn’t return both because she seems to sulk a lot and lacks leadership skills. Don't get me wrong, she's a tremendous talent; I hope she brings those missing ingredients next season.
Without diamond UT wouldn't have won half the games they did. Diamond sulk because she's hard on herself.. And if i was on a team that dropped over half my passes or blew layups then i would be frustrated at times as well. Diamond was and still is the best thing going for this team.

If DP said it, it happened...and yes, it did happen. Also like DP said, you can believe what you want to believe, and that will never change.

Te'a is gone due to a STUPID mistake made by a college student, but one that the University and Athletic Department could not let slide. Te'a didn't want to leave, but there was no other option. For those saying Holly didn't handle it best, you can really go kick rocks.

You seem to want to blame the rest of the team for DD's attitude problems. That's the way prima donnas and their supporters think. You don't sulk on a basketball court--period--as it doesn't help you or your team. Pouting is selfish behavior--it's all about me.

You might want to check DD's shooting percentages before you throw shade on her teammates. DeShields has had a TON of terrible shooting performances over the last two years--4-12, 5-15, etc. Lots of them. She can't shoot the three. As for her passing, you just make the pass that needs to be made. You don't need to make a showboat, bullet pass. The best players play at a high level consistently, raise the level of play of their teammates/team, and show good leadership on the court. DeShields doesn't really do any of those things. She was a near-embarrassment her first year of playing her--poor play, AND a bad attitude. Who comes out in their first year with a program and starts sulking around from the start of the season? Inexcusable. Last year she was better--she played better and there was far less sulking, but she was still very inconsistent and she still doesn't act like a leader. Here's hoping she takes another step forward this year.

You condone a lady vol player filming another one of their teammates in a brawl? At the least that teammate needs to be suspended. These girls, I'm sure, are held to a higher standard than that. Surely you're not that clueless.

This very talented team has displayed no discipline on the court, and to an outside observer there is none off the court (in the dorm, for example?). That is a team chemistry issue, a coaching issue.

If the incident as reported is true, a good coach who had discipline-related team issues would clearly state the player was dismissed for disciplinary reasons or violation of team rules, or whatever. Such a move reinforces the rules and helps create a culture of cohesiveness. A whitewash perpetuates the situation by clouding the issue and does nothing to alleviate it.

If it is acknowledged a player was dismissed, the player's future options might be limited somewhat, but she would depart with one of life's lessons that is best learned early. Cooper is a baller and will be fine wherever she may land.

CHW did not do what is best for the program. She did what is most advantageous (not synonymous with "best") for the player.

CHW did not do what is best for the program. She did what is best for the player.

What's important is what she told the players, not what she told the media. If the players know the real reason she's gone, there's nothing clouded for them. Discipline shouldn't be affected.
