Cooper Leaving

If Cooper was dismissed, then Warlick and the program should have been truthful about it when the announcement was made. First, honesty is the best policy; second, you send a message that bad behavior won't be tolerated. Why would Warlick want to do a favor for someone who's hurt the program? Bad behavior--if that in fact was the cause--should be called out. Can you imagine Warick being asked about it at a presser: Instead of coming out and addressing the issue directly--which can be done without getting into specifics--she would hem and haw and mumble for 5 minutes and leave everyone shaking their heads and saying, "what?"

What was untruthful? Holly said they had a talk and determined it was best if she transferred. It's no ones business what specifics were discussed at that meeting. Holly did send the message that issues would not be tolerated. Coaches know what happened. Players know what happened.

Just because you are a fan of a team does not mean you get to know everything that happens with the team.

EXACTLY!!!!! This + 1 GAZILLION!!!!

And if she had handled it the opposite way, there would be those saying she "unnecessarily ruined the reputation of a young woman who made a mistake."

Holly can't win no matter what she does with some of this crowd.

You condone a lady vol player filming another one of their teammates in a brawl? At the least that teammate needs to be suspended. These girls, I'm sure, are held to a higher standard than that. Surely you're not that clueless.

I agree that it was wrong to take the time to record the fight instead of using that time to try to stop it. This whole thing makes me sad.

My understanding is that the 3 Baylor players who transferred, including Beatrice Mompremier, were basically told it would be best if they transferred (as per the Baylor forums), yet that wasn't included in press release. I don't think how Holly handled this was all that unusual, and probably the last thing that was needed was to make it into a spectacle. If a reporter were to ask about it, I'm sure they are experienced in reading between the lines.

without diamond ut wouldn't have won half the games they did. Diamond sulk because she's hard on herself.. And if i was on a team that dropped over half my passes or blew layups then i would be frustrated at times as well. Diamond was and still is the best thing going for this team.

100%

My question is who was she fighting with?
If not Alexa! I doubt she would go after Mercedes , Harris, Green, to big for a serious consideration? Not many left??? DD, Nared, Kort, MeMe with someone out with a camera??? My guess is !!!! I don't know . 😈

Wouldn't be surprised, their relationship didn't seem as close as it was when she came (judging by their previous interactions on twitter until now). Diamond also seemed develop a relationship with MeMe that Te'a seemed to once shared with Diamond (and MeMe). Wonder now if this changes Alexa's mind since she has yet to announce any schools or anything of that sort and since there would be a few minutes available for her now

Women, amirite?

Don't bet on it. My 4 pound toy poodle tries to fight pit bulls:). Fortunately our pittie is a gentleman.

Saw a miniature poodle tear a German Shepherd apart one time too. Of course I think the Shepherd was just too dumbfounded to respond:blink:.

"Not the size of the dog in the fight.
But the size of the fight in the dog." 🤔

I have been critical of Holly and her coaching but I commend her on the way she has handled this situation (based on some of the facts that have come out). An example has to be made to ensure that moving forward the program will not be known as "Fight U" or the place to not send your daughters because the coaching staff has no control over the team.

Would I like to see the person filming to be disciplined? (I certainly would) but that disciplinary action doesn't have to require the same fate that Te'a received. That person (or those persons) could be suspended a few games in the beginning of the season for all we know.

I hope Te'a learns from this and I also hope the other young lady or individuals involved (fighting or taping) learn and make better decisions next time. In life though we might want one, but not everyone gets a second chance.

You are so right! Some of the fans on the football forum go nuts because Coach Jones won't tell things but he is also right.

IMHO I think Holy did right by not slamming the young lady, therefore not giving UT a black eye.

This is a very sorry story. I guess I'm most concerned about the suggestion that other team members encouraged the confrontation between Te'a and Unnamed Player.

If the encouragement was "UP please slug Te'a because we're sick of her ****", then maybe Te'a's departure will help alleviate team chemistry issues.

If the encouragement was "Te'a, we hate UP. Please slug her for us," then team chemistry is likely at an all-time low and it's going to be a long season.

If it was "We're bored so let's see a fight," then they all need their ***** kicked.

I wonder if CHW had the opportunity to see the supposed tape.

What's important is what she told the players, not what she told the media. If the players know the real reason she's gone, there's nothing clouded for them. Discipline shouldn't be affected.

No, what she did was allow a soft transfer for an infraction which requires dismissal. I'm not advocating she detail it for you, me or the media.

You are correct in the assessment discipline will not be affected. Neither will it be effected, which is my point.

Hey, we can disagree...still respect your view, which appears to be the prevailing one here. But we're all homers for the most part.

Three scenarios...
I am surprised it took this long, it happened over two weeks ago.

Every championship team, I played or coached on players fought. Championship teams and players hold each other accountable, a competitive spirit, and fire its bound to happen, hopefully, the players can work it out, themselves. I was a fighter, I didn't tolerate laziness, I'm giving 100% and u giving 70 or 80 oh no we boxing. I am trying to win championship bih!

Now, if Holly, let Cooper go for fighting, welp shame on her. She wants valley girls, that look good for the fanbase, takes awesome photos. ijs Where the ballers at?

I remember Diana telling me about all the fights she had at Uconn, cos she would not tolerate lazy play or mental midgets and she took scrubs to championship. Need I say mo.

Or hearing from Holdsclaw all the shouting matches they all used to have.

Cooper if u were dismiss for fighting, this is not the kind of team you want to be on, lady vols for the past couple of years lacked accountability and toughness from the head coach on down to the players, if you're not willing to fight for what you believe in, you are as good as dead.

Lady Vols are not tough, Holly your girls are not tough mentally or physical, let them work it out, of course, protect a player safety, but aye fights happen.

Cooper, I bet u whoop who ever it was ass. huh. Cooper losers don't fight, don't speak up, don't stand up for anything, please don't be one of those people.
Te'a goodluck young lady, and always fight for what you believe in and don't tolerate excuses or half ass play!

Coaches, tend like team that check themselves. But when you keep seeing your coaches keep giving certain players passes, whatcha gonna do?

Or Maybe Te'a don't want to play for a coach who want get in her face, and challenge her to be the best player possible with their processes, and actions everyday. Diamond, Nared, Cedes, its too late to leave now! Imagine if they left, Lady Vols program would be in shambles.

And from the inside, since everyone had inside information.

One of the main reason the gurl have been underperforming, and not playing for Holly, cos they (more than one, talked to recruits too) say the Lady Vols are ran like an ole slave plantations, its so ole and stale, the Lady Vols players does not have a voice in anything, and being a lady vols is no fun!

If Holly doesn't modernized the Lady Vols brand to include this hip generation you are right, she will be done. "Its' the Lady Vols, and you love the history but you don't see where they are going," from a top recruit mouth.

Being a Lady Vols, you have to give up so much up of yourself, and you have no say!

But Holly and the fans forget, WE (the players) do have a say, the lady vols said, with our performance.

Holly, let the gurls have a say or at least meet them halfway. They play the way they do, cos they don't respect you, cos they don't feel respected.

Stop tap dancing around the issues facing your program. The main one, I am coaching for the fan base and not you the players. The players feel it! And we the fans see it with their play! The show up for the games they want too, cos they don't respect you or your process of building a team. Since you won't give them what they want, they won't give you what you want, WINS! SEC Championship, playing hard 40 minute per game. There is no trust! There is little respect!

IMO the players have had too much say and Holly has not taken control of the situation .....
