In my opinion you promote chavis to head coach, name the dl coach defensive coordinator. Demote phil to O.C., demote sanders to qb coach.

They were ready to play, they just couldn't.  (Offense and special teams that is)

That is exactly right! Our offense has 0 punch, and our special teams looks more like special ed..... :banghead:

And bring back Johnny Majors as special teams coach (name another street after him) just like we did Cafego several years ago (PS is George still alive). That should solve our special teams problems. I will call my friend Mike Hamilton first thing Monday morning. I will give okalavol all the credit. Book your reservations for the 2006 SEC championship game in Alt. Ga.now!!

Y'all may run me off the board for this but I have to say it.....

IT IS JUST A GAME

Corey Anderson is not a villain, he is a college kid.

Phil Fulmer will not coach the team to victory EVERY game.

Randy Sanders does what he is told, period.

This is not the first time we have lost to Bama and it will not be the last. Losing is part of college football - whether we want to accept it or not. If we celebrate the victories, we should see them through the losses too.

Griping and complaining after a loss is natural. Losing sucks.
But let's just pick ouselves up, dust ourselves off and move on.

There's always next year.

I'm feeling for Anderson right now, he'll never forget this game and that feeling will be with him forever.

It's the big swing plays like that that turn fans on players, even though its an entire offense and there are plenty of other things to blame a loss on, the stand-out plays like that are the killers.

What I hope for, is that UT fans don't turn on the guy and cross any lines. Remember the Ohio State-Texas game, where TE Ryan Hamby dropped an easy TD pass that would've put the game away for the Buckeyes, instead the 'horns comeback and win the game.

Some "buckeye" fans went as far as sending him hate mail and e-mail threats because of that dropped pass, and that's going way too far. Ohio State had to kick 5 field goals in the game as their offense could not score a touchdown, and Justin Zwick fumbled on the last drive of the game that Texas recovered along with Troy Smith taking a sack in the endzone for a safety, so the Buckeyes had plenty of blame to go around other than Ryan Hamby.

So we can criticize the guy, but I sure hope no one even thinks about sending Corey Anderson any kind of hate mail or threats.

I agree,no way can you lay the blame on him or any single player. The loss today was a team effort.

With all due respect, LIO, it's just a game to everybody except the players who want to make it a living at the next level. This kind of poor coaching performance could affect whether or not they move up.

RS obviously works under PF, but this being the case, if the job's not getting done, the head coach is in the perfect position to fix what's wrong, and he hasn't done it heretofore. Either he can't or he won't, and either way, there needs to be a change.

"If you do the same thing you've always done, you will get the same result you've always gotten."

I think her "It's just a game" was aimed more at the goofs who act as if we should hang a kid in effigy just because he dares to fumble.

I've said it on another thread and I'll say it here: Anderson didn't do anything fundamentally wrong...he held the ball in the proper hand and lowered his shoulders when the guy was coming at him. Harper got lucky.

If I was Anderson, the same thing would have happened to me. He surely doesn't deserve any hate mail...that fumble is it's own punishment.

It seems that Foster should be the man at HB, though. Riggs is too inconsistent just like last year. If it weren't for Cedric Houston, we would have been in deep trouble in '04, too (reference the SC game last year).

I think it is really unfair- I mean Harper just had the perfect hit plain and simple...bottom line if we had played better the game's outcome wouldn't have been determined by that one play anway.
I also think people are reading into Riggs performance a little bit too much. I remember hearing CBS saying something about his ribs and I really think something happened to him and he got hurt and that's why he didnt play very well. Regardless I still think Riggs is a great back, and has done very well when you look at the way this offense has performed and that they have basically relied on him to carry them. Don't forget if it wasn't for Riggs we would be 2-4 right now.

Lost in the Anderson fumble was Riggs' last run right before it. He was banged up and gutted his way down to the 5 yard line on his best run of the night.

It seems to me like there is something about 4th quarters and OT that makes Riggs want it more. Just an observation.

As in his only run.

Well, he did have 60 something yards, so he wasn't a total bust, but I know what you're saying. He definitely didn't look nearly as dynamic as Foster.

Anderson made a ton of plays today.

Our run game was the best it's been this year - against the best rush defense we faced this year. Anderson opened some holes.

Riggs had 67 yards rushing; Foster had 57. His last run was his best but not his only good run of the game.

When it all comes down to it, we had 109 yards rushing against the #4 rush defense in the country. So our running game improved against a really tough rush defense.

Sanders is already the qb coach. That's the main reason we havn't had anything more than an average qb since Tee left.

That pretty much sums it up. He will never forget what happened. I can't bash him. He is mre mad at himself than we are for what happened.

Bless his heart.

Yes he is. I wish I hadn't started this thread (if I hadn't someone else would have). I was mad as hell and just venting a bit.

Huh? Maybe, try using both arms around the ball like running backs are taught in high school to protect the ball.
